sequester that Obama really wanted.

Whose Sequester?
March 1st is here.  U.S. is officially sequestrated. Yes, as part of the Budget Control Act of 2011 passed by Congress, and signed off by the President, the U.S. government will automatically slash $85 billion from its annual budget (about 2.4 percent of the total budget , and the "panic" is being overstated If Congress allows sequestration cuts to take effect, more than 170 million Americans could lose their jobs, according to Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.).“If sequestration takes place, that’s going to be a great setback. We don’t need to be having something like sequestration that’s going to cause these job losses — over 170 million jobs that could be lost,” Waters said. She went on to say cuts must be done “over a long period of time.”  What I find so astonishing is that I have not heard not one REPUBLICAN . Hello . Say anything in regards to massive lay offs.Democrats have painted a Doomsday portrait with the sequester. Republicans say it won’t be so bad.Get this as well, According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, there are only 134 million people working in the United States. So by Waters’ estimation, the sequester cuts would be so apocalyptic that nearly 40 million people who don’t have jobs would become even more unemployed. Further, the U.S. currently has a population of about 315 million people, according to Census data. If Waters was correct in her assertion, that would mean sequestration would leave more than half the country, 54 percent, unemployed. Talk about a catastrophe. Maxine, what you’ve just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.Republican lawmakers have been uniformly brutal in targeting  **President Obama for the cuts, pinning responsibility on the White House and attempting to brand the ordeal as "the president's sequester." The idea for sequestration did originate in the White House, but both Republicans and Democrats supported the idea, and 174 House Republicans -- including House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio -- voted in its favor. Since that bill's passage in 2011, the pervading conventional wisdom has been that sequestration was a "poison package" so equally bad for Republicans and Democrats that it would inspire the rare Washington compromise. Wouldn't it be More Productive if Our Elected Leaders Started Working Together as AMERICANS for AMERICANS and AMERICA, instead of just bickering, stalling and posturing for the next election as democrats and republicans! The American People have had it with this unproductive BS! The way that both parties having been operating for years just stinks! Neither party has really been looking out for the best interests of the US Citizens who elect them and who they're supposed to represent. While threatening to take away from working Americans through sequestration, our new Secretary of State John Kerry is handing out $60,000,000 to Syrian rebels. That amount is 60% of what sequestration would cut from the FAA. Perhaps this wouldn't be quite so mind boggling if the Syrian rebels actually like Americans...but they don't! John Kerry couldn't walk up to any of these folks with a cart full of money without being killed simply for being an American.
But this is important to note:
The White House Office of Management and Budget has until 11:59 p.m. Friday to actually issue the official sequestration notice that starts the entire process. That’s also when OMB will  transmit a report to Congress detailing cuts in every affected agency’s budget account. Obama must actually issue an order to trigger OMB’s actions… While officials typically say the cuts this year add up to $85 billion, the Congressional Budget Office estimates actual spending will only fall by $44 billion this year. The $85 billion figure refers to "budget authority" -- or what the government can allocate this year, but actually spend over several years.  Even using the $85 billion figure, the cuts amount to just more than 2 percent of the total federal budget.

NOTES AND COMMENTS:

** It's really amazing to me that the person making "threats" and VARY SOON about to sign the "hurtful Cuts" is none OTHER than Pres. Obama . Who is accusing the Republicans as being the bad guys,  Less than two months into President Obama's second term, new numbers show the national debt increased by more than $6 trillion since he took office."At a time when our business has finally begun to get some traction, hiring new workers, and bringing jobs back to America, we shouldn't be making dumb, arbitrary cuts to things that businesses depend on and workers depend on like education and research and infrastructure and defense," Obama said. "It's unnecessary, and at a time when too many Americans are still looking for work, it's inexcusable. The Obama administration wants the sequester to hurt immediately so the public will clamor for its reversal. But will this gambit work? Probably not.Obama's statements that they are hard to keep up with. His lying, chicken little, hysterical tour was one long tale of scaring the Country to death. Pulling numbers out of thin air just to threaten the Republicans was and is unconscionable.
