The First Debate and the Covid " Numbers".

(1)>>The first debate will be held at 9 p.m. Eastern on Tuesday, and is hosted by Case Western Reserve University and the Cleveland Clinic, in the battleground state of Ohio. “Fox News Sunday” anchor Chris Wallace will moderate. September 23rd is the new day of "infamy" . That day is marked fore the first debate between Donald Trump and Joe Biden. You have to watch this , it's going to be a "bomb".  The Covid scare is going make the debate look a virtual reality side show ,  (2)>>Your going to hear F bombs. But so far  the latest development in a back-and-forth between the two campaigns as they hash out debate details amid the upended election norms caused by the coronavirus pandemic. Yes, there will be multiple debates between Biden and Trump, and a couple between Pence and Harris.  Just less than 40 days away . Biden 100%. No way biden will debate him, at least not in person.  but I don’t think Biden can hold up in a debate against Trump. Cognitively, he is not what he used to be. (3)>>I think there is a chance Biden’s handlers will take Nancy Pelosi’s advice, and “opt out,” cause Trump is “so terrible.” BUT STAY TUNED , this September 23rd. It's very informative to viewers to watch the 2 candidates on the same stage be asked the same question, & then listen to their answers. It gives viewers an opportunity to assess their decorum, statesmanship, & overall familiarity with what's asked. It helps us determine who knows the rules; who'll react appropriately when confronted with someone voicing facts or opinions they don't agree with. This should steer voters to the "right" choice, but Donald Trump shows how badly that can fail. In his debates with Hillary Clinton, he interrupted her, often stood menacingly behind her while she spoke, while constantly saying things like "wrong" whenever she stated something he disagreed with.Apparently, there are Americans who approve of his unprofessional & inappropriate behavior! In his debates with Hillary Clinton, he interrupted her, often stood menacingly behind her while she spokeMaybe Biden can power walk around the stage while he talks. In the shape he's in now, Trump will get visibly winded just walking after him. But here is the spoilers alert : Joe Biden is only running because he literally can’t remember that Hillary just lost to Trump with his exact same platform. So Biden has to be his sharpest or else the wild animal is going to eat him. I would expect Biden to beat Trump on a policy debate. But it won't be a policy debate.Trump will get really insecure when his stupid comments don't get him an immediate reaction from people. He'll start to make up things and lie (as usual) and this will make him look even worse during the debate when Biden proves him wrong on everything. When things come down to policy and facts rather than publicity and shock factor during these debates. So Who is going to be the winner ? You have to wait .

THE COVID  "NUMBERS " .

 Time Magazine's so called grim
reminder , or  Propaganda ?
Even in states with robust health systems,California, technical reporting issues have plagued the country’s response.  (4)>>A glitch in the state’s CalREDIE data reporting system recently caused the system to fail to process up to 300,000 coronavirus records. Following the mistakes that led to the glitch, the state’s top health official resigned. Could it be the data is really wrong . So let's dive into theory making here.
The Covid numbers . When we first started looking at them as early as March , there was a steady to rapid jump like over night ,yet with no explaination . Before any test for Covid was around , every MSN started showing that thousands of people tested positive for Covid  Remember too while between March and June , President  Trump was in a battle between the News media over Covid Test kits . Yet with out the positive test kits , it seems that numbers of positive Covid  expsosures was going up. Now how is that? Remember too that the US Population is 300 million people. There are not enought tests to start . Even China with their 1 billion people a small percentage were infected [ in the millions , deaths were reported as 80 thousand , but China can't be trusted ]. Yet the so called "milestone" of 200 , 000 deaths was predicted way back in March .  (5)>>Anyone Reemember what the good Dr. Fauci was telling us in February ? We were all told conflicting information . Since the start of the pandemic, the public has been barraged by conflicting messages in part because the country is dealing with a new and still poorly understood virus and in part because politicians and scientists deliver conflicting advice. But rumors, misinformation and outright falsehoods — some intentionally propagated — have also flourished in that cauldron of confusion. LOOKING AT Recently data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) revealed that only 6% of people who died of COVID-19 actually have COVID-19 on their death certificate. This has led to accusations that the agency has “back-pedalled” on the number of deaths caused by COVID-19As the CDC report notes, “For 6% of the deaths, COVID-19 was the only cause mentioned.”In other words, 94 percent of Americans who have died from coronavirus from the week ending February 1,
The Daily Death numbers
are posted on CNN like as
if were looking at the lottery.
What is funny about this , is where
are the numbers of
those who recovered from
Covid ?

2020 to the week ending August 22, 2020 had, on average, almost three comorbidities that played a role in their death.
SO WHAT DOES THIS REALLY MEAN ? Unfortunately they are lumping two distinctly different things in together - causes AND conditions. There is no indication or subset breakdown in percentage. It would be much more informative is it DID say primary causes or at least what was the actual cause. Many people are contracting C19 after being hospitalized for something unrelated or test positive and have no symptoms. The CDC is making no distinction here is C19 was the cause of death or simply an unrelated positive infection.
They are looking for data that shows less people dying of pneumonia since the pandemic to make up for the percentage of people that are dying of Covid-19. I can understand the thought process. What they don’t get is that the flu in itself has a vaccine that (even I have) most health people refuse to take and covid will getcha way easier and quicker. Can we tell those with their conspiracy theories? Can we put a graph side by side for the people that can’t bother to read or figure things out themselves? Because the news gets ratings from that majority. But public health experts say the method used to count deaths from a disease like Covid-19 is decades-old and some amount of uncertainty is simply part of the process. It's  STRANGE that the U.S. leads the world with the largest deaths , while most of the world reported a lot less . But the numbers don't just add up . To reach 200 thousand , the CDC on their web site says that 930 people a day have to die . When the CDC projected 1.7 million deaths back in March, it used an estimated death rate of 0.8%. Imperial College’s estimate of 2.2 million deaths assumed a rate of 0.9%. The fear generated by the projections drives the public policy debate. The Washington Post headline, “As deaths mount, Trump tries to convince Americans it’s safe to inch back to normal,” were part of a steady diet of such fare. When Georgia opened up over a month ago, the Post warned: “Georgia leads the race to become America’s No. 1 Death Destination. The numbers look more like propaganda , just would we need the daily reminders ?  (6)>>How about Recovery numbers?

NOTES AND COMMENTS:

(1)>>The first debate. Do they not remember 2016’s debates and how everyone who wasn’t a diehard trumper thought he preformed like absolute garbage? I remember how on the fence voters were asked to rate Trump’s performance and people kept giving him scores like 2/10.And even then, he lost the debates hard and still won the election, so why does it matter? So  Politics aside, every American should expect any president, and any serious candidate for the office, to be cognitively aware and always mentally sharp. Both Trump and Biden should be willing and able to directly answer any and all questions related to that basic, expected qualification.Over the last few months, Trump has been like the ultrasmart kid in class who raises his hand at every question from the teacher to prove he knows the answers. Trump’s enthusiasm to prove his own cognitive abilities would seem to tip that issue in his favor. To successfully cross the tightrope, and to put Trump at a disadvantage on this issue, Biden must be able to claim the middle ground between elderly and seasoned, between forgetful and thoughtful, between frail and fit, between contentious and courteous — and between politician and statesman.(2)>>Your going to hear F bombs. People seem to think Biden is going up against 2016 Trump and not 2020 Trump. Trump has gotten noticeably worse as far as using strong language  since he took office. BUt BIden's gaffs may steal the show , your going hear the cuss word . AM sure of that Trump being brash and Biden unintelligible would be a draw and cause everyone to default to their priors. What is Biden going to do differently than all the Republicans who ran against Trump in 2016? I remember watching in horror as he picked them off, one by one, usually with nothing more than a derogatory nickname.  (3)>>I think there is a chance Biden’s handlers will take Nancy Pelosi’s advice, and “opt out,” cause Trump is “so terrible.”think there is a chance Biden’s handlers will take Nancy Pelosi’s advice, and “opt out,” cause Trump is “so terrible.” The San Francisco Democrat argued that a debate with the president would “legitimize a conversation” that Trump has not earned. She suggested that Biden and Trump could answer questions separately instead.“I don’t think that there should be any debates,” Pelosi said at her weekly news conference . “I do not think the president of the United States has comported himself in a way that (resembles) anybody who has any association with truth, evidence, data and facts. I wouldn’t legitimize a conversation with him, nor a debate in terms of the presidency of the United States.”  House Speaker Nancy Pelosi says if she were running Joe Biden’s presidential campaign, she would tell him to boycott debates with President Trump, calling any that include him an “exercise in skulduggery.”(4)>>A glitch in the state’s CalREDIE data reporting . Health officials in multiple California counties say the electronic system used by most local health departments statewide to report data on infectious diseases is currently experiencing “serious” technical issues, resulting in coronavirus cases being significantly undercounted. The technical problems suggest that the apparent statewide decline in COVID-19 activity that had been observed in the past few days, and which Gov. Gavin Newsom touted  as an indication the state has been “able to get a handle” on the pandemic, may instead be either partially or entirely attributed to a data glitch. Could this "glitch" been responsible for inflated numbers of positive tests and deaths ? Couriously Gov. Newsom back tracked after the glitch and started a re-opening process for the state , as if he gave up on the numbers . (5)>>Anyone Reemember what the good Dr. Fauci was telling us in February ? Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, told USA TODAY's Editorial Board back then .Short of that, Fauci says skip the masks unless you are contagious, don't worry about catching anything from Chinese products and certainly don't avoid Chinese people or restaurants.  "Whenever you have the threat of a transmissible infection, there are varying degrees from understandable to outlandish extrapolations of fear," Fauci said. On Jan. 26, Fauci gave an interview to John Catsimatidis, a syndicated radio host in New York. “What can you tell the American people about what’s been going on?” Catsimatidis asked. “Should they be scared?”“I don’t think so,” Fauci said. “The American people should not be worried or frightened by this. It’s a very, very low risk to the United States, but it’s something we, as public health officials, need to take very seriously.”Fauci reiterated that COVID-19 “isn’t something the American people need to worry about or be frightened about” because, at the time, it was centered in China and the U.S. could screen travelers from that nation. But Fauci also twice described the virus as “an evolving situation,” and said, “Every day, we have to look at it very carefully.”(6)>>How about Recovery numbers?    The Most ignored part of the Covid "numbers " is with out question the Recovery rates . World wide 23 million people recover from COVID , again we have to question numbers , the United States reported that 4,599, 629 have recovered, With a 96 % survial rate  👉 see : [ https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/country/us/  Without the ability to accurately retest the entire population for the virus or the virus’ antibodies, the only way to get a true recovery number would be to follow up with all the patients to see how they’re doing. That would require significant resources that are being directed toward contact tracing, health experts say.The majority of COVID-19 patients are able to recover isolated at home. As such, there is not any hospital discharge data like there would be for the minority of severe cases.

Ruth Bader Ginsburg the After "thought".

No Post edit here . Ruth Bader Ginsburg may have been a remarkable Woman , we can take sides on what she did for women . This short note is not about her legacy , but what is coming in the aftermath .
When YOU all think that THINGS are going to GET WORSE .
Trump called the Senate minority leader on Tuesday, and Schumer told the president that picking a justice hostile to the Roe v. Wade ruling or Obamacare would be "cataclysmic," a person familiar with the conversation told CNBC. The New York Democrat told Trump that such a choice would divide the United States and tarnish his legacy, the person added. Democrats didn’t focus much on judges in 2016 election. I remember republicans week before the election just vote trump you’ll get Supreme Court nominees and then In 4 years don’t vote for him. But, more broadly, the Supreme Court has always been in the business of empowering certain groups of individuals, groups, and organizations, and disempowering others. That's a purely political affair, and there's really no getting around it. So you can admit it (as many judges do), or you can be obtuse and pretend that judges are passionless legal sages to make you feel better about yourself. NOW Why did Ruth Bader Ginsburg had to die ? Could she have lived another 4 years ? You wonder .Justice Ginsburg was an inspiration to many and an icon of the Supreme Court, but we know that her death may be controversial due to the political implications.  Am so sick of our Two PARTY system , the parties of opposition , now the Democratic side is taking action to stop Trump's nomination of a replacement of Ginsburg , that might possibly be a WOMAN . It’s really amazing how they can’t vote on a stimulus bill to help the people but can vote immediately on a nomination that will inevitably help there political careers. It’s really disgusting. The Two party system will not agree on anything  , just a few 40 days of the November election the Democrats are calling on another impeachment attaempt . Republicans seem likely to prevail in this round. Trump said he will announce on Saturday his choice to replace the late liberal Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Republican senators continue to fall in line, some reversing the positions they took when President Barack Obama in 2016 offered Judge Merrick Garland for an open seat in a presidential election year. But the Republican show of strength could prompt a backlash if Democrats win the White House and flip the Senate in November.  Trump’s nominees to the court, Justices Neil M. Gorsuch and Brett M. Kavanaugh, were part of a 7-to-2 majority rejecting Trump’s objections to subpoenas for his personal financial records as part of investigations by a New York prosecutor and congressional committees. The Supreme Court is apolitical. The ideological split comes from there being 2-3 different, well-defined ways of interpreting our basic laws, and this leads to predictable behavior of judges in certain major cases. You'll note that the justices still tend to agree a lot more than they disagree, but on issues of constitutional law, how you read the Constitution can have a big impact on how you rule. Since these competing legal philosophies tend to (at least loosely) align with the major competing political philosophies, Presidents tend to be able to appoint judges who will agree with them moat of the time. The Supreme Court how ever is caught into a political typhoon . Why so many problems on a President's Court choice ? The truth is Roe V Wade , both sides of our political system are trapped by Roe V Wade , issues of ethics of the nomination deal with Roe V Wade.Remember Brett M. Kavanaugh? We had months of political smearing , it took center stage for months . Perhaps that is why the Democrats wanted to wait till January 2021? .That  which they "hope" Trump would be out of office [ SNEAKY] . The reality they don't want on either side a Judge that takes the seat and leans too far to the left or right.
We need to stiffen up and resign ourselves to the fact that it could very well be another 6 years, not 2. And if that is the case then his replacing RBG and Breyer is almost a certainty. It would be the end of the country for at least a generation.

Destroying the US Presidency

Obama and Trump share a legacy .
Both are political outsiders .
Both faced opposition from
the failed two party state .
How do you destroy a country ? Well you have to start within a country . First you make it's political system so bad that either side can't agree on anything. Next you try to make its elected  leader look like he's is  incompetent. Most of all you hit the kill switch on which the party of opposites brings down the house . America is a mess right now. I am just jibber jabbering here saying that both. (1)>>Obama and Trump both faced obstructionism. Obama had his Republicans trying to label him a Marxist from his first day.  Same and likewise , Trump had the Democrats try to make him out a Putin puppet ,trying to link him with collusion theory. Either way, it's same thing how the two party of opposites are destroying the US Presidency. So far it has worked well.  (1.2)>>Republicans and Democrats have so much hate for each other right now . Even during the pandemic , its like a civil war brewing . As I now see, this kind of governance not only corrodes constitutional order but also undermines stability, as new presidents busy themselves overturning the executive actions and international agreements enacted by the previous.  It’s strange that we have had two presidents who had such a transformative effect on our national discourse both will leave such a negligible policy legacy that will be so confusing to future historians.  The Legacy of this decade from the last Bush was the War on Terror, the complete ruin of the American Military occupying Iraq and Afganistan, wasting of trillions of dollars of tax payer money . The war lasted 20 years , killed thousands of Americans for revenge and oil . About 2008 people were fed up with the establishment . When Obama was the "outsider"  who promised "hope " and "change " that stuck with a general public tired of wars . I am sure that Obama  wanted to change America. He was it's first Black - Multi- racial President. We all know what happend to the outsider Obama . He was relantlessly attacked by the Republican right . Eight years of Obama was mired in strife , a futher expansion of the war on Terror . Mass shootings and white cop killing unarmed black men . While I can't hold everything against Obama , he turned himself into a puppet of the Clinton's . His second term was like seeing Bill Clinton again . Obama made a huge mistake when he made Hillary his Secretary of the State. She quickly took over, totaly destroyed any hope of middle -east peace , she also destroyed relations with Russia which if you look at all these events they paved the way for the other "outsider" Donald J Trump to size the office of the President.  His hope and change promise was broken. Trump the Other outsider came to undue much of the Democratic gains that Obama pasted together .  (2)>>As USUAL in REVENGE POLITICS , the Democrats tried the same tactic on Trump as the Republican Senate did towards Obama . Trump is so easy to pick on , part of that problem is that Trump can't keep his mouth shut . Trump is the opposite right wing radical . Obama the left wing radical if you want to compare . Excuse me , not playing the devils advocate. I personally think that Trump lacks professionalism , he's has temper, he is vile . Sorry. The 4 years in office , Trump did make some gains. He did make the nation better just prior to the "pandemic" [ PLANDEMIC ] the US economy had grown faster , Americans for the first time saw their taxes reduced . Yes, Unemployment down to 3.4 % . Honestly if Trump did not have 4 years of scandal , investigations , were left alone he would have done a better job of it . Sadly is now tossed into the shit can of politics. For the last 4 years, we have watched  (3)>>democrats obsess over Trump doing anything they could to get him out of office, while maintaining a double standard for Washington insiders like Clinton and her emails. The Russia investigation, the Ukraine impeachment, the constant negative media coverage cherry picking and trying to destroy him on every word he said was somewhat amusing at first but then sort of got annoying. I don't know if the pandemic was released accidentally or it was planned, but ignoring the conspiracy noise it is biologically impossible for the virus to have made a jump like that in nature in such a short time. It's that plain and simple with how mutations work.   The political system in the United States is broken. The fact that our ballots are going to read Donald J Trump and Joseph R Biden Junior this upcoming November. The Democrats and Republicans have won every presidential election since 1852. They have controlled Congress, either or, since 1856. They both scream that the other is the problem but they have, collectively, run this country for nearly two hundred years. They managed to crush every other political party and any murmur of dissent is ruthlessly put down.I dislike that polarization caused by the two party system has. It's now destroyed the office of the President .

 Joe Biden's SLEEPY PRESIDENCY .

As President . Can Joe Biden
stay awake ? Will survive the
two party of opposites?
Why is Biden’s age and physical / mental condition a question when crazy Jabba the Hut occupies the White House today?  (4)>>Will Biden survive the pandemic mess ? First of all the Covid pandemic is not going away in January as most believe , that the Plandemic plan is just a way to get Trump out of office . Biden is really just going to push the old Old Obama agenda , while his other advisers are the Clintions. We might see Hillary appear in the middle . For the start the Joe Biden era looks SLEEPY , even from looking at my cyrstal ball . It's not that the economic situation will get better in America . The Biden doctrine is Obama's , that mirrors the Clinton's tax hike . Though Biden's claim that it's only those making 400,000 a year who see higher taxes . We all heard that before , so in 2022 taxes are going to hit the roof for every American . For Joe Biden there is still that possibility of him being elected . KEEP THAT IN MIND.
I think it is optimistic to assume he could serve ONE term of the presidency, which is a dangerous proposition for his candidacy and for the Democrats in general.Biden, who would be 78 in January, has faced rumors that he would be a one-term president due to his age. This has led to speculation that whoever was chosen as his running mate would almost certainly be poised to take the presidency in 2024.Biden and his campaign have denied the speculation.   Joe doesn’t just look old and tired; he is old and tired.I don’t know why he decided to run for president at this point in his life. If he had run in 2016 and gotten nominated instead of Hillary, he would have won. But that ship sailed without him.I sort of suspect he’s been pressed into service by the Democratic powers-that-be. They might have gotten scared because all the other candidates are completely un electable. Joe is really about the only one who might appeal to the saner voters of Middle America, that is, if he doesn’t start preaching to the Far Left. He’s pretty good at waffling. Mentally, it appears as if he has suffered cognitive decline (not a medical diagnosis) based on some of the peculiar behaviors over the past few months. I expect this decline to worsen over time. At age 77 (78 by election), he is already near the life expectancy for a man in the US. Under the pressures of office, expect his physical health to suffer greatly. The poll, released  by Rasmussen Reports, found that 59 percent of likely voters thought it was probable that Biden’s running mate would become president over the course of the four-year span.Thirty-nine percent of likely voters saw the scenario of Biden not finishing his first term as very likely, as opposed to just likely. So if Biden never makes it for one term , guess who TAKES OVER !? Bold to assume that they'll wait until 2024 to make Kamala President. Joe is going to step down within the first two years of his presidency.  (5)>>Personnally Kamala looks a bit power hungry , immature for a woman , I see through her , she might have a dash of rashness . Why Biden picked her is vary bizzare ,  did she qualify as a African American ? She is Indian , part Jamacian . For the race card players she is "black" . Any way Biden could have had Warren , but she was as a risk as he is , why not Amy , or Tulsi? There was lot's of women ! . The Oligarchy chose Harris because Biden could be ousted by the 25th amendment. It's SCARY, SCARY TIMES !!!! You don't know who is REALLY INCONTROL of OUR GOVERNMENT .  The thought of Biden winning is starting to raise some serious concerns. (6)>>It's not so much Biden himself, end up a puppet, but it is the entities mentioned above that are using him as a puppet to oust Trump and sign anything in front of him. This first was very evident by the fact that the DNC convention that took place was a complete sham.  The 2016 Convention was also a sham , it was rigged for Hillary , just as much as the RNC was rigged for Trump again in 2016 . The hypocrisy of the left... I remember watching a Washington Post video on youtube when Biden said that "you ain't black" comment, and the liberals tried to blame Trump for the current racism and for Biden saying that. But from 2021 onwards will Biden survive ? If they had it out for Obama, Trump. They have Biden on their list to destroy . Remember that Biden  has portrayed himself as a transitional candidatedescribing his campaign as a “bridge” to the next generation of Democratic leaders, so it’s entirely possible that Harris, who is 55, will be thought of as the future of the party no matter what. Just think that Kamala Harris becomes President in 2024 , behind her is Nancy Pelosi and Hillary Clinton , everything comes out of the woodwork  as planned .

NOTES AND COMMENTS:

(1)>>Obama and Trump both faced obstructionism.  This strategy of kicking the hell out of Obama all the time, treating him not just as a president from the opposing party but an extreme threat to the American way of life, has been a remarkable political success. It helped Republicans take back the House in 2010, the Senate in 2014, and the White House in 2016. This no-cooperation, no-apologies approach is also on the verge of delivering a conservative majority on the Supreme Court; Republicans violated all kinds of Washington norms when they refused to even pretend to consider any Obama nominee, but they paid no electoral price for it—and probably helped persuade some reluctant Republican voters to back Donald Trump in November by keeping the Court in the balance. Now the Democrats have used the same strategy on Trump . We have seen 4 years of investigations , sleeze , blaming Trump . Its so similar ,Still, for the most part, obstructionism worked. Americans always tell pollsters they want politicians to work together, but as Washington Democrats- Republicans hit the overkill switch . The Democrats decided  to approach the Trump era from the minority to impeach the Mother Fucker approach , they will be keenly aware that the Republican Party’s did throw sand in the gears of government throughout the Obama era helped the Republican Party wrest unified control of that government. Silly Democrats did the same thing .  (1.2)>>Republicans and Democrats have so much hate for each other right now .  The Republican and Democratic party are the Parties of opposites, they do nothing for the American people .  Examples from Pelosi and McConnell.Nearly half the country (48%) thinks the Republican Party has been taken over by racists, a view held by 80% of Democrats. And the Democratic Party? Nationally, 44% think it's been taken over by socialists – and 82% of Republicans share that opinion, according to the extensive study, "Fractured Nation: Widening Partisan Polarization and Key Issues in 2020 Presidential Elections."Identity established by mutual loathing is pretty much all there is to go on when partisans of the two factions so rapidly change positions, sometimes despising one another for holding fast to beliefs they themselves once supported. In their struggle for control of the government, it's all about loyalty and power, without any deeper meaning.   (2)>>As USUAL in REVENGE POLITICS.   Nancy Pelosi inevitably became an instant memewhen she ripped a transcript of President Donald Trump’s State of the Union speech. Trump spoke about a number of expected topics including the U.S. economy, trade agreements and immigration during the State of the Union on Tuesday night in the House chamber. And as he finished, cameras captured Pelositearing up her papers. (3)>> democrats obsess over Trump doing anything they could to get him out of office.   Blmaming Trump for EVERYTHING seemed to have been ingrained by the MSM media , Oh yea, I forgot to talk about the scariest thing of all to me....the censorship from the left that I witnessed first-hand when COVID broke out. There was a coordinated effort to keep ANY information from leaking out of China and any reporting here on the virus except from a few small sources. Now, we are seeing doctors getting banned for their opinion. This is all being done by the democrats. The riots , burings , etc . Honestly, if 2020 didn't happen, I'd be voting democrat. I don't know what the hell is going on anymore. (4)>>Will Biden survive the pandemic mess ?  According to a Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey 38% of likely voters believe that Joe Biden is suffering from some form of dementia, including 20% of Democrats. Evidence for dementia has come from his age and various recorded instances of Biden misremembering details or misspeaking. Some, however, have argued that his cognitive decline is overstated. In December 2019, Biden's doctor released a statement saying that Biden was a "healthy, vigorous’ 77-year-old fully capable of taking on the role of president." Others have pointed to Biden's stutter as the primary explanation for his gaffes, rather than age-related cognitive decline. At one press conference, Biden said to a reporter, "I’ve been tested. I’ve been tested constantly. [...] I can hardly wait to compare my cognitive capability to the cognitive capability of the man I’m running against."(5)>>Personnally Kamala looks a bit power hungry. Harris is likely eyeing a future White House run, too. For one thing, she campaigned for it in 2020. The fact that Harris will say and do anything for power is evident in her very acceptance of Biden’s offer. It’s going to be fascinating to watch Harris explain why she is running with man who only months ago she strongly insinuated was a racist. “There was a little girl in California who was part of the second class to integrate her public schools, and she was bused to school every day, and that little girl was me,” Harris explained, as she hit Biden on his history of working with segregationists to oppose busing laws in the 1970s. If Kamala ends up as the first Woman President it's because it was part of the plan.(6)>>It's not so much Biden himself, end up a puppet. But the scariest point he made is that a vote for Biden is basically a vote for his cabinet. The former vice president would have to lean HEAVILY on his supporting staff if by some kind of miracle he did beat Trump in the coming the election. BUT the influence of Obama and Clinton would evidentif he were to step in the White House in 2021 . Well, his former boss, President Barack H. Obama, has given him some advice, telling him that he needed a candidate to “shore up his weaknesses.”So, being the good little parrot/puppet that he is…as long as he avoids a big gaff , he will be in the safe zone.

The Beirut blast

THE EXACT cause of the explosion remained uncertain, but Lebanon's Supreme Council of Defense stated that over 2,700 tons of ammonium nitrate had been stored for six years at the warehouse where the explosion occurred, calling this "unacceptable." Multiple reports were issued in recent years urging for a solution to be found concerning the stored chemicals. My first impression of the Beirut incident was that we were dealing with an unconventional explosion caused by unconventional means. Any big explosion makes a mushroom cloud and a shockwave, nukes are just the most famous for it. Most explosions above a certain yield will result in the classic mushroom shape -- we just didn't have the technology to cause this frequently without nuclear weapons for quite some time.  Before the August 4 Beirut port explosion that devastated the heart of the Lebanese capital,  (1)>>Hezbollah commander Abu Karim was on edge at his post in the southern Lebanese hills, east of the ancient port city of Tyre. Tensions were high after a week of escalating Israeli attacks on Hezbollah in Syria, and the Party of God was ready to retaliate on the Lebanese-Israeli border. So when the monumental blast occurred, panicked orders came from the top and the commander found himself on the radio, calling his fighters to battle stations and bringing Lebanon’s powerful militia to the brink of war with Israel. When asked about his depiction of the explosion at a White House briefing, US  (1.2)>>President Donald Trump said that he had met with some US generals who feel the blast was not "some kind of a manufacturing explosion type of event." He told reporters that according to these unnamed generals "they seem to think it was an attack; it was a bomb of some kind." Lebanese officials have stressed that the investigation into the incident is ongoing and the exact cause of the explosion is unclear. First off, let's start with the obvious: I'm not a scientist, nor an explosives expert, nor anything even approximately close to the two. So take what follows with a grain of salt. In fact, probably a whole bag of salt. With that said, as one might expect, my inbox has been stuffed in the last two days with emails, videos, tweets, and so on, of that very large explosion in Beirut, Lebanon, that leveled a district of the city, sadly killed several people, and left many others -hundreds of thousands according to some reports (See https://www.zerohedge.com/health/300000-left-homeless-beirut-after-blast-collapsed-walls-1-mile-away), with devastated homes.  Everyone, myself included, found it too "unusual," for whatever reason, and offered their own speculations, and asked me for mine. I have to admit that I've watched several videos, and while my first thought after
Beirut blast was so huge , this map shows
what it would be like if it hit New York .
The shockwaves alone would be felt
for 10 miles .
seeing the earliest videos was "some kind of fuel air bomb," I spent much of yesterday afternoon watching other videos from different perspectives, and I am now not so inclined to
take that view, though I still hold it out as a possibility. We'll get back to that. As of now, there are are two main theories: (1) The media is now reporting that the explosion was due to massive amounts of stored ammonia nitrate, as per this article from Zero Hedge which states that the amount was some 2750 tons, and that it was stored there for six years, implying that the explosion may have been an accident, or possibly, sabotage: 2) U.S. President Trump was briefed by the military, and their conclusion was that it was some sort of bomb.So we're left with where we began: accident, or deliberate act. The question is, if the latter, what kind?

Israeli Involvement Suspicions.
I was thinking about it. That the Israeli's may have bombed the Beirut port for many reasons, fighting terrorism? The Gray Zone for instance says:  "The narrative first debuted in the Israeli press after a June 2019 story in the British pro-Israel daily The Telegraph on  (2)>>alleged Hezbollah storage of the explosive around London. The Times of Israel introduced for the first time the much broader theme that Hezbollah planned to use the explosive for “huge, game-changing attacks on Israeli targets globally.” Next, “new details” appeared in the Hebrew daily Yedioth Ahronoth from “unnamed Israeli intelligence officials,” disclosing how Israel had supposedly stymied ammonium nitrate-based terror plots by Hezbollah in London, Cyprus, and Thailand." If they admitted it was the Israeli's, they'd have to do something about it or be seen as weak. BIG QUESTION if it was an accident, so Lebanon may prefer to say nothing rather than deal with civil unrest because what can they do? If the went to war with Israel they'd lose badly. In fact, any action against Israel, e.g. sanctions, boycott etc would probably hurt them a lot more than it would hurt Israel. Israel can do whatever they want really with impunity in the region. They have the best army AND nuclear weapons. The only restraint they have is their alliance with the US, if they go too far, they could hurt that support. In 2006 Israeli war jets bombed Beirut Hezbollah targets . Why do people seem to have this strong knee-jerk reaction towards the  (3)>>possibility that it could have been a foreign attack?Everything is still unclear but there are witnesses and video recording of what sounded very much like jets breaking the sound barrier right before the massive explosion...I've heard suggestions that it could have been pressure accumilating inside the facilty, but would that really produce this kind of sound?Have any experts on sonic booms and such weighed in from their knowledge? The question now is why was there all this ammonia nitrate for?I'm not usually for conspiracy theories, but IF this did involve external interference, what's easier than already having 2700 tons of ammonium nitrate stored in a critical port waiting for someone to take advantage of the situation. You don't even need a plane or a bomb. You just need to start a fire. Either way, it was a recipe for disaster. My condolences and best wishes to all the victims.  The problem is not so much ammonia nitrate, as leaving potentially dangerous substances unattended and unsecured for long periods of time in or near strategic infrastructure. This could have been a forgotten shipment of dynamite leaking out nitroglycerin over time, or any number of other substances that are safe to store in the short term, but over time end up turning into a mushroom cloud.  (4)>>In the six years since the 2,750 tons of ammonium nitrate had arrived in Beirut’s port and been offloaded into Hangar 12, repeated warnings had ricocheted throughout the Lebanese government, between the port and customs authorities, three ministries, the commander of the Lebanese Army, at least two powerful judges and, weeks before the blast, the prime minister and president. No one took action to secure the chemicals, more than 1,000 times the amount used to bomb a federal building in Oklahoma City in 1995. It is impossible to know if this latest Beirut explosion will be any different than thousands of other bombings and attacks this country has witnessed that remain shrouded in mystery and allow each party to come up with their own convenient and politically profitable explanation. While it is easy to fall down the conspiracy rabbit hole, or claim it was just an "accident" caused by governmental dysfunction and incompetence, we should not be satisfied with simple and opportune explanations.

NOTES AND COMMENTS:
(1)>>President Donald Trump said Trump was asked why he called it an attack and not an accident, especially since Lebanese officials say they have not determined the cause of the explosion. He told reporters at the White House: “It would seem like it based on the explosion. I met with some of our great generals and they just seem to feel that it was. This was not a — some kind of a manufacturing explosion type of a event. ... They seem to think it was a attack. It was a bomb of some kind, yes.” Now    there is that statement from President Trump that he was briefed by the Pentagon, and they were of the opinion it was a bomb of "some sort." The idea of a "bomb" suggests that there was more involved than just ammonia nitrate, or grain elevators, and the phrase "some sort" could imply that it was something "exotic", or that the generals briefing Trump were deliberately making it all up, and deliberately obfuscating the event with misinformation. Now come the my usual off the end of the twig high octane speculations. What if, indeed, Trump's generals are correct and it was a bomb "of some sort"? In spite of all the above arguments, the intuition still nags at me that the fuel-air bomb hypothesis might be true. After all, grain dust or even ammonia nitrate dust might act like a fuel air bomb. But what if we're looking at something quite different? (1)>>Hezbollah commander Abu Karim .  those "tales of Hezbollah ammonium nitrate" in Cyprus/Germany/London were false according to local police that would be correct and those 'tales' were israli propaganda. But since the "tales of Hezbollah ammonium nitrate" in Cyprus/Germany/London etc are true according to local police, and they did actually had ammonium nitrate in all those places, it means that this 'article' is Hezbollah's propaganda and misinformation.     (2)>>alleged Hezbollah storage of the explosive around London.   The Lebanese military discovered more than 4 tons of ammonium nitrate near Beirut's port on Thursday, a find that's a chilling reminder of the horrific explosion a month ago that killed 191 people.According to the military, army experts were called in for an inspection and found 4.35 tons of the dangerous chemical in four containers stored near the port. There were no details on the origin of the chemicals or their owner,The find comes almost exactly a month after nearly 3,000 tons of ammonium nitrate stored at Beirut's port for six years detonated, wreaking death and destruction. (3)>>possibility that it could have been a foreign attack? You would hear the sound barrier breaking from a distance surely, who said the jets had to be extremely close to the target site? Are you just getting information out of your ass and claiming it as evidence? Btw, I don't know how familiar you are with the 2006 war, but when that happened you'd definitely hear jets approaching right before a bombing run occuring, that's undeniable, and rarely would anyone actually SEE them coming, civilians I mean. (4)>>In the six years since the 2,750 tons of ammonium nitrate had arrived in Beirut’s port and been offloaded into Hangar 12. In September 2013, a Russian-leased cargo vessel loaded with ammonium nitrate heading to Mozambique reportedly made an unscheduled stop in Beirut due to financial and mechanical troubles. Lebanese officials, citing unpaid fees and safety concerns, prevented the vessel from sailing, leading to it being abandoned by its owner. The ship's dangerous cargo was then offloaded and placed in a hangar in the port. It appears to have remained there, untouched, until the devastating blast.

A Tale of Two CONVENTIONS !

A Tale of Two CONVENTIONS !

WE Have TWO national political conventions.I mean... Is it? I watched most of it, and it cycled between hilariously over the top super villian monologues, depressingly transparent lies, and drug fuelled ramblings. It was a horrifying rollercoaster of crazy. I genuinely have no interest in the sort of person this garbage works on.  (1)>>The Democratic Party and Republican Party . While these conventions are basically to rally voters . Fiest off , The DNC tried to pretend that the election was in the bag in 2016 and was all forward looking past the election then , if you spent time with the DNC on those nights it seemed to me like a endless barrage of Anti-Trump speeches .Jokes aside, the convention so far has showcased an orchestra of voices from the far left to the right all singing the song that President Trump is unfit to be president.  (1.2)>>However, they never put forward a positive agenda for America under the leadership of Joe Biden. How would he get the economy going again following the coronavirus shutdowns? What policies do they propose to get workers back to work and expand jobs? Will they raise taxes? Would they eliminate private insurance for every American?   While there was not a solution to the nations problems from any of the speakers, REMEMBER THIS MAY APPLY TO THE REPUBLICANS . It seems to me that the US has become so divided along political lines that it has reached the level of fundamental religious faith. No matter what evidence is presented to either side, there is no way any minds are getting changed. I've seen both the left and the right calling out the other side for their 'lies' on the same issue. It seems to me that if you a right leaning person, you are going to have faith in the republican side of the argument and vice versa. In such complicated issues as you guys are dealing with, there are always tons of facts available, and those facts can be cherry picked to form perfectly cogent and logical arguments on either side. Long story short, I think there has been a massive loss of objectivity, and the emotional side of politics is being amplified to the point where there can be no rational discussion.   Shifting all the blame on Trump alone for the dire situation of the country is exteme shortsightness .  Trump's only fault is that he listened to vary bad advice from the start  the "experts" like Fauci  , they downplayed the so called pandemic  CDC , and last of all this COVID madness is the fault WHO reading the script that the Chinese Communist Party handed them. The issue of race , police brutality , the nations social unrest , burning , looting cities . Again Trump is not to blame for that either. Trump was just ascape goat  The third night of the party’s national convention also featured a striking repudiation of Mr. Trump by former President Barack Obama, a break with the presidential custom .of not criticizing a successor by name.Democrats have posted the speaker lineup and themes for each night: shorturl.at/kKLMP Republicans have yet to post their speakers on their convention page:https://www.2020gopconvention.com/ although Ballotpedia suggests the themes and that Trump speaks the last night: shorturl.at/fFLUW   With exception of Governor Kasich, I don't find a lot surprising in the DNC lineup - with largely a mix of dignitaries political office holders or previous presidents. Still want to see who gets the more formal Tuesday keynote designation since that had been a springboard in the past . The RNC didn't have a keynote in 2016, so not sure what they do this timeHow much do you expect to watch any of the proceedings in detail? How much do you expect to rely more on the the smaller sliced soundbites that will get replayed? Do you expect any major surprises at these conventions? (I don't - and expect them to be mostly scripted). I will probably look for transcripts if provided e.g. acceptance speeches or keynotes and perhaps listen to some speeches if provided by lawfare blog.I will be particularly curious to compare/contrast Trump's acceptance speech with the one from four years ago - shorturl.at/ivUY7  since I found that one to be fairly dark. I expect the new one to also be dark, but will have to be tempered since this time Trump is the incumbent.
Weird Facts about the Democratic Convention:
So it sort of made sense that the the 2020 DNC National Convention would be the (2)>>first virtual convention, staged not in one central location but all over the country, a party spread across the nation in a fine smear, like jam on toast. Joe Biden and Kamala Harris were together, and a few important Democratic officials were in Milwaukee (where the convention was originally slated to be held).  (3)>>Barack Obama traveled to Philadelphia to deliver his speech. In watching "Good-Man Joe" as he began his acceptance speech, I found myself gradually shifting from holding my breath to finally relaxing, clearly seeing that he was making his case that h"I got this." So instead of giving TV viewers at home a typical convention speech without thousands of delegates cheering him on, Biden’s campaign and Democratic officials instead staged his acceptance speech like a presidential address from the White House. So the weird blend of intimacy and lag contributed to a sense, all throughout the convention, that it wasn’t quite real. The virtual DNC felt either fictional or like a dry run for the real event. By the time Biden delivered his concluding speech officially accepting the party’s nomination for president, the whole hootenanny seemed, in rather surreal fashion, as if it were taking place inside a video game cutscene. Biden’s speech was the best I’ve ever seen him give, but the eerie vacuum he delivered it in made it seem like something selected from a menu of dialogue options. 😁👉Elizabeth Warren is a speaker on a Native American panel. Tuesday’s Native American Caucus meeting had a surprising headliner: Senator Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts. The honor of a powerful seated senator should be welcomed. Except, this was a controversial speaker choice. Warren’s Native American claim is negligible based on a DNA ancestry test she took and released to the public. This was after she claimed minority status to gain access to programs and opportunities throughout her career. Some Native American community members condemned her and she had to apologize to the Native American community for the harm she caused. Given this backstory, the caucus was mercilessly trolled yesterday for putting her up to speak and eventually disabled online commenting, but not before one user tweeted: “Stay tuned for the DNC Black Caucus meeting featuring Rachel Dolezal.”AOC nominated Bernie Sanders for president but shaded Joe Biden. After an impassioned plea for  a far-left, union-driven agenda, AOC ended her 60-second speech with “I hereby second the nomination for Senator Bernard Sanders of Vermont for President of the United States of America.” She claimed it was just a procedural exercise, but she never once even mentioned Joe Biden in her speech. AOC’s shade eclipsed Joe Biden’s sun.Calamari ManDuring the roll call vote, when a delegate from each state announced the state’s votes, Rhode Island’s Democratic Party Chairman Joseph McNamara dubbed his home “the calamari comeback state.” Standing beside him to illustrate the analogy was the executive chef a local boardwalk seafood restaurant decked out in black. He held out a massive plate of tasty-looking calamari and was quickly dubbed Calamari Man as the image went viral on social media.  Zoom clappingMove over applause buttons, there’s a new sound effect tool in town. After Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders spoke, a full screen of people clapping popped up.  California Governor Gavin Newsom made an appearance at the Democratic National Convention after all, in short remarks from the scene of the state’s devastating wildfires. The DNC Convention has many weird moments , noteble was  Billie Eilish performed her new song "My Future" for the 2020 Democratic National Convention on Wednesday while also pleading with viewers to vote for Joe Biden over President Donald Trump in this year's election.  I honestly may be a wee bit out of place that is the first time I heard of Eilish . Seeing her on TV , looked like stunt to appeal to the younger voters . She looked a bit radical in a conventional sense .  Her green hair dye in short shows how far to the left the Democrats have gone . Trying to embrace every political angle to defeat Trump .
Weird Facts about the Republican Convention .
I think people are having knee-jerk reactions, but you are right. As much as I despise the Trump's, they are not to be underestimated. We saw what happened in 2016. I'm not saying Donald is some kind of evil mastermind, he's a moron. He does have a talent to fire up and keep his base though. The Republican National Convention kicked off Monday, August 24, featuring four nights of speakers, ranging from the president's most vocal supporters on Capitol Hill to members of his family to Americans who the Trump campaign says have written "the great American story."Vice President Mike Pence headlined Wednesday's program, speaking from Fort McHenry in Baltimore, where U.S. troops repelled British naval forces during the War of 1812.   The Trump Campaign immediately responded to the first night of the Democratic National Convention, citing the lack of -- what the campaign has called before -- a "radical left" policy from Biden.Trump 2020 national press secretary Hogan Gidley in a statement said, "Perhaps it was just an oversight, but the first night of the Democrat convention left out the fact that Joe Biden would raise taxes on more than 80 percent of Americans by at least $4 trillion. Also missing was his open borders policy, with amnesty and work permits for 11 million illegal aliens. There was no mention of Joe Biden's desire to cut police funding, kill ten million energy jobs with a green new deal, or give free healthcare to illegal aliens, but in fairness, it was only the first night."While the Trump campaign is attacking the virtual production of the DNC by calling it a "Hollywood-produced infomercial" Gidley also said that the "radical socialist leftist takeover of Joe Biden is complete." I think he's gonna run in 2024, and he really has a chance at winning the GOP nomination, since the Republican base loves him. It's hard to predict his chances because statisticians don't have great models to adjust for ratfucking absentee voting during a pandemic. It could range from backfiring due to outrage to effectively depriving the democrats of tens (hundreds?) of thousands of votes peppered across the country in liberal zip codes. This fall is going to be such an insanely intense and painful moment in US history regardless of how it turns out. Someone tell me I’m overly pessimistic but I don’t see how this isn’t the beginning of a truly dark period in American history. Even if he loses the part of the country that have been stirred up aren’t going anywhere, I don’t see unity of any sort in sight. Nobody will probably even see this comment, but I’m going to toss it out here anyways:Regardless of how rigged this election feels, you should still get out there and vote like your damn life depends on it. You have absolutely nothing to lose, but everything to gain. Trump gets power from “what’s the point if they are cheating or the election is rigged?” comments. Even if you vote for Trump, you are still exercising your right while we still have a Democracy, even though it’s currently hanging by a thread. Turning people who leave these types of comments on to voting is the only way that we have a shot at turning around this country. If Trump wins this, you will likely never even get the choice to vote again.People treat voting like it’s a chore, like jury duty. This is a right that we have as American citizens that we take for granted all to often. Believe me, I’m guilty as charged. There are people in this world that have sacrificed their lives for their people to be able to vote. Take a moment and think of the weight of that sacrifice. When I go out to vote, I follow the mindset that my one vote could be the one that changes everything. It has happened before, it can happen again.
The Afterwords.
I think a lot of us are seeing through this and i dont know what this means for 2020 long term. Despite the clear ideological differences that have created a schism between the parties, the two conventions had a common denominator. Unlike past conventions, which were full of conflict and dispute, this time both were held in an atmosphere of internal harmony and enlistment by activists ahead of the final stretch. I will say if it gets to the point where we have like the best candidate at 15% or something with no clear winner, i dont think that  old Sanders supporters will have as strong of a case to vote third party though, because it's not like we had a shot at outright winning anyway without interference.  Neither of the two parties is for changing the voting system if it has the possibility of either of them losing any power. Also, in regards to this list on why the parties are different it seems to be focusing on wedge issues. The issues that I'm more concerned about are things like the expansion of the surveillance state, lack of infrastructure expansion, and voting reform (not just disclosure of funding). The political oligarchy is uninterested in meaningful change in these regards. I blame the Democrats for the GOP becoming what it has. Their blanket statements like “all conservatives are racist” did nothing to help their cause and pissed off people who weren’t racist. Slowly but surely they got fed up and started electing borderline radicals out of anger and resentment. Kind of a subliminal “you want racism, we’ll show you racism” type of thing. There’s no denying Trump is a buffoon, but he’s in power for a reason. People were fed up with the Democrats bullshit.   Although both Biden and Trump identify as religious, surveys show that many Americans are skeptical of their claims. Just 35% of U.S. adults see the president as “very” or “somewhat” religious, according to a February report from Pew Research Center. Around half of Americans (55%) said the same about Biden at the time. ANYWAY Donald Trump and Joe Biden are on the ballot for president, but so too are their ideas, ideologies and proposals — and how those intersect with the hopes and fears of Americans.Top of mind these days is the topic of race, from the disproportionate impact of the coronavirus on people of color, the killing of George Floyd and the demonstrations that followed, and now the shooting of Jacob Blake in Kenosha. The whole country is at the boiling point in the "most important election of the decade"
Get out there, cast your ballot, and let people know that your opinion matters!
NOTES AND COMMENTS:

(1)>>The Democratic Party and Republican Party . Both Parties in our Political system have made suckers out every American . The past twenty years, the post 9/11 world, is a world of wiretapping, drone strikes, endless wars, election rigging, covert government agencies, nuclear weapons, financial corruption and deranged celebrity. we've seen the cia lie about wmds with a straight face to the american public. we've seen vast, illegal surveillance programs exposed by whistleblowers who are declared enemies of the state. we've seen the united states go to war with every country in the middle east except israel and saudi arabia (i'm sure that's just a coincidence, though). we've fitnessed wall street banks pillage the public coffers with immunity for decades. now, in the Trump era, we've seen the president basically just say f**k it and ride the wave straight into the rocks. it would take a library to detail all of the crimes of the trump administration. classic, meat-and-potatoes crimes, types of crimes that are as American as apple pie and baseball. There’s this group that’s been racially gerrymandering and suppressing minority votes for decades. In 2016 they blatantly blamed the Russians that they interfered in our election and assisted  Trump in the effort. They’ve even illegally cut the census short in an attempt to cheat on future elections. They spew disinformation and outright lies with every breath they take. In fact the sanctity of a US election has never been more in question than today and if we don’t vote these vile bastards out of office this November we will not be a democracy again for generations.(1.2)>>However, they never put forward a positive agenda for America under the leadership of Joe Biden. The thought of Biden winning is starting to raise some serious concerns. It's not so much Biden himself, but it is the entities mentioned above that are using him as a puppet to oust Trump and sign anything in front of him. This first was very evident by the fact that the DNC convention that took place was a complete sham. It was an obvious dog and pony show to go through the motions to make Biden the nominee. Biden is honestly a bit senile or has some sort of dementia, and I don't know how fit he is to run the country, so like I said, others will be running it for him (and this seemed planned all along). Then there are the VP picks. Biden has stupidly backed himself into a corner by declaring that his VP pick must have, ABOVE ALL ELSE, be a "WOMAN OF COLOR" . LET'S NOT PLAY THE RACE CARD . But Kamala is not exactly 100 % African American . She is really Part Indian and Jamacian  Now, I got me some book learning under my belt. It may not be as fancy a book learning as Old Joe, but it’s enough that I feel confident in saying that Biden’s litmus year is just about the most racist, sexist thing ever. In a hundred years people are going to look back at this period of time, and it’s crazy shit like this, and regret that humanity ever regressed so far down the evolutionary ladder. This is witch burning level bullshit!   (2)>>first virtual convention.  The first night of the Democratic National Convention, exiled by coronavirus to the ether of teleconferencing and prerecording, was an experiment in how to sound the theme “We the People” with a “we” constructed entirely virtually. At its shakiest, it was, like much pandemic-era TV, uncanny, disjointed and unsettlingly weird. (To its credit, though, there were few of the glitches that have riddled so much bandwidth-dependent live television.) At its most engaging, it dispensed with some relics of televised conventions and found faster-paced and more intimate alternatives.  (3)>>Barack Obama traveled to Philadelphia to deliver his speech. In his scathing rebuke of Mr Trump, Barack Obama broke with a tradition that former US presidents do not criticise their successor by name. He said the consequences of the Trump presidency have been "our worst impulses unleashed, our proud reputation around the world badly diminished, and our democratic institutions threatened like never before". Devoid of an audience and its usual rapturous applause, Obama sounded at times like a disappointed father, his sighs audible as he delivered a speech he never thought he’d give. Donald Trump was once a joke to Obama, a “carnival barker” who he famously mocked at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner as Trump sat and watched with a frozen smile. The humor in Trump has been gone for a while now, but for his first few years out of office, Obama held back on his successor as he kept away from the near-daily controversies and scandals emanating from the White House.
