Jumping the White House . A review.

So the center stage today was the hearings on the security breaches at the  White House Ms. Pierson offered her resignation on Wednesday during a meeting with Jeh C. Johnson, the secretary of the Department of Homeland Security, the agency that oversees the Secret Service. The resignation came less than a day after lawmakers from both parties assailed Ms. Pierson’s leadership and said they feared for the lives of the president and others in the protection of the agency. It's interesting to note that   Ms. Pierson  woman in a leadership role thrown under the bus, especially when the problems in the Secret Service are so clearly systemic, but her performance has been indefensible. Interesting enough as I will explain here that the  (2)> President of the United States does not sleep with his family in the White House . President Obama resides in a top secret location for "safety"  The big White House is for show and tell for the public , and informal gatherings like "press conferences" . The White House has not actually had a President live there since the 1960's  since it was deemed as "unsafe" during the Cold War or since 9-11 for fear of assassination attempts . (1)>  This COULD BE THE BIGGEST SECRET SERVICE BREECH EVER ! Question remains Are we avoiding the question of how long such lapses have been going on? For years, or did they just start recently? If for years, why were they never made public? How were such incidents hidden? And if they just started recently, why? Could it really be a consequence of the department's transfer to homeland security? If so, what's wrong with homeland security? Or (heaven forbid that one should be so politically incorrect as to suggest it) is there a general disrespect for this particular president? The 'bright' side of all these revelations of incompetence is that what might have been hidden for some time, has now been revealed. She may have been sabotaged and entangled in such a corrupt agency that is so entrenched, as well as being unable to testify about details and facts due to (further) security revelations, that she was against the wall with no other way out. In any case. there is always a scapegoat and there is a female "in charge", the scapegoat is ready-made for public flogging. Ms. Pierson may be, in fact, the most responsible for the apparently deep problems in the Secret Service, or maybe she's not. I wonder if we will ever know. There is simply no excuse...no (3)> "review of protocol"....that explains how someone can jump the fence and watz into the front door of the White House.  It is incomprehensible.  You have agents, dogs, security systems, and you can't stop one person?   Equally stunning is this other story by Leonnig, about the 2011 incident in which seven bullets struck the White House: “It took the Secret Service four days to realize that shots had hit the White House residence, a discovery that came about only because a housekeeper noticed broken glass and a chunk of cement on the floor. Here is another why any intruder will NOT catch Obama in his PJ's if he should break in.  Seems crazy , but it is true. Wow, I don't know when exactly they declassified this but this is the first i've read this. Many people always speculated that the DC Metro system was primarily funded not because of the cities need for public transportation - which it did - but as a transport system for the President in the case of a nuclear attack. It's far more extensive than I could have imagined. Since the system reaches Camp David - why would the president need to take a helicopter to Camp Daivd? This secret tunnel system currently connects the White House to the Eisenhower Executive Office Building next door, the New Executive Office Building (NEOB), the bunker under the Blair House, the bunker under the VP Residence at the Naval Observatory, the U.S. Capitol, Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, the Pentagon, the State Department, and some other federal buildings in between. There is also a secret train that runs between DC's Union Station and Mt. Weather and is under the protection of the TSA Federal Air Marshals. Long-term plans call for the expansion of the White House tunnel system to go south past the Pentagon; west past the CIA to Mount Weather; and north past Camp David up to Site R in Pennsylvania. The estimated completion date and exact route of this ambitious tunnel expansion plan remains classified. There is also a "serious" issue that goes back to the year 2007 that I discovered from the Democratic Underground  web site , so I quote it here as a paragraph (4)>  "the White House Security Office, have been blocked, while the White House Security Office never investigated security breaches reported by Secret Service or CIA agents. Furthermore, White House aide Karl Rove had his security clearance renewed in late 2006, contrary to guidelines issued by President Bush. And managers of the White House Security Office have “ignored basic security procedures,” according to security officers.  So as far back as 2007 there were still security issues . No wonder  I believe the President of the United States does not live in the White House . It may seem like a "trivial issue" compared to the safety of the president ?

NOTES AND COMMENTS:

(1) >This History of the White House as far as "security issues" is found in an interesting paper from the New York Times : SEE http://www.nytimes.com/2014/10/01/us/white-house-security-breach-omar-gonzalez.html  (2)> Obama claims he works Saturdays. But this past Saturday, following a Friday trip to Minneapolis and Chicago that featured an incredible six fundraisers, Obama slept in at his home in Chicago, puttered around the house, and finally emerged at about 11:45 am to stroll to a friend’s house. (3)> When the social-climbing party crashers made it into the Obamas' first White House state dinner in November 2009, there was some talk about lax security but the story was mostly treated as a fun sidebar to a ho-hum news event.(4)> see this web site http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=102x2894922
