Alec Baldwin's reported "accidental " shooting.

Baldwin's  accident
with a gun needs
a good
investigation .
Did I say
Lt . Columbo ?

Alec Baldwin's reported "accidental " shooting deserves a note . A
New information about the incident — which caused the death of the film’s director of photography, Halyna Hutchins, and injured director Joel Souza — has been detailed in search warrants executed by the Santa Fe County Sheriff's office and obtained by Yahoo Entertainment. Souza said they were setting up a shot that required Baldwin, who plays an outlaw in the film, to cross-draw the weapon and point it at the camera. While demonstrating what he would do, the gun, which wasn't supposed to be loaded, went off, the warrant states.  There are a lot of peculiar things about it. (1)>How did live rounds end up in a cold pop gun?  There's tons incoming at this moment. he was producing and he did hire the film company, but it was the company's choice to fire the workers and hire scabs. it had literally been a DAY from when they hired the scabs and then this happened, I'm not even sure he could've done anything in that short a time. There's something to be said for hiring a film company that'd do this, yes, but in this moment, the blame is theirs .The producers are ultimately responsible for the safety decisions made on set and their enforcement. The cutting of corners which as I just read in the LA Times article, on this set were atrocious, as often happens on lower budget productions. The big thing here though is Alec most likely wasn't the primary EP and was most likely only providing money for the backend recoup."Live round" is the industry term for blanks, as opposed to other rounds which may look like live rounds but are not functional at all. All firing blanks are considered live because they are still dangerous.Who according to that article then handed it off to an assistant director to hand off to Baldwin. A few of you are asking why he didn’t check. Answer, on a film set, it is not his job to. While it may have been a good idea to double check, it is certainly not a written rule he has to - they have so many safety people, and checks and such for the purpose of allowing the actors to simply turn up and act. Let me say this again: as a producer or actor, it is not AB’s fault a loaded gun was handed to him. So let's explore a "theory" .
Was Alac Baldwin set up ?
I don't know question wise if Baldwin was set up by someone . Or was a real freak accident . I remember the  (2)>>TV series COLUMBO for one had several episodes where there was some kind of fowl play involving a actor on a movie set . As always the caper is a jilted spouse  slipped a real gun during a movie shoot , had the "lover" killed while the film was being made . We all know that COLUMBO had many stories like this that I can remember . It's always that someone sipped a live ammo on the set. Many actors and actresses over time have pointed guns at people or the camera. It is a legitimate way to get the shot (and the irony is, many people who are attacking AB for it may be the very people who enjoy these gun movies, and intense gun scenes.) That is why these guns are usually fake, or usually fire blanks. There is 0 evidence to suggest he was drunk, that his arrogance or aggression got in the way, that he knew it was loaded etc etc. We should welcome an investigation into why he was handed a loaded gun, but he should not be attacked for the fact this woman is dead. As a producer of a film during the creation of which someone died, he may be sued. The ridiculousness of the entire situation is what I’m convinced of. They called them “prop guns” over and over in the first place.  I would think that a prop gun wouldn’t have a firing pin. So… not a “prop-gun”! Also- Hollywood convincingly uses digital effects now to create the illusion that a gun is firing. Why the hell were they using real guns with anything remotely like gunpowder? It's extremely strange .  Alec's fate is sealed in the industry. No matter the outcome, no matter the elapsed time, whether he had to pay or gets off Scot free, no one will want to book him.His life is forever changed..in his heart...in his lifestyle...in his legacy. He's tainted now. There are too many other actors his age who can do what he does. He can do a couple of voice overs, but no one will ever forget. Funny thing is I don't remember reading about accidental deaths by guns on old TV westerns like GUNSMOKE . So was Alac set up ? I say "probably" , someone may had had a grudge on set , don't know like am picking up things as I WRITE this . Then AGAIN not ruling out a "accident" should be investigated .

NOTES AND COMMENTS:

(1)>> How did live rounds end up in a cold pop gun? Guns used in making movies are sometimes real weapons that can fire either bullets or blanks, which are gunpowder charges that produce a flash and a bang but no dangerous projectile. Actor Alec Baldwin fatally shot 42-year-old Halyna Hutchins with a gun a crew member had assured the actor was safe. An assistant director, Dave Halls, grabbed a prop gun off a cart and handed it to Baldwin during a rehearsal for the Western film "Rust," according to court records. IT blows my mind an AD handed the gun to Baldwin, and not an armorer. On a proper film set, you’re not even allowed to move an extension cable if you’re not in the electrical department. Or move an empty camera case out of your way if you’re not in the camera department. There was absolutely someone on that set who was responsible for clearing that firearm, and making sure it was safe, and handing it to Baldwin, and they didn’t. And for some strange reason an AD thought it was his job to hand it off to Baldwin. That’s insane.(2)>>TV series COLUMBO.  Recollecting which episode of the TV show Columbo stumbles upon a fatal shooting on a TV set that involved a real gun being used on the show killing a actress .  While it was ruled a "accident " on the set .The Story line here is that things don't up to the investigators . Columbo starts asking questions about the gun . At the start of the episode we a see a hand with a black glove switch the gun during filming . While Columbo thinks that there is more too the story . He finds out that the actress was having a affair with two people , one of the actors on the set , the producer at the same time . So Columbo figures out foul play that leads to a jealous woman as the murderer .
