The FALL OF CNN . & MSNBC

The far left , fear news media CNN is taking a hit .
CNN has been plagued by a cascade of high-profile scandals, most notably the  (1)>>firing of its primetime star Chris Cuomo after the anchor was found to be secretly aiding the defense of his embattled older brother, former  (1.1)>>New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, over sexual harassment allegations that resulted in his resignation.
This example is a microcosm of why the American people have lost faith in the “news” outlets and partly why we’ve become so polarized as a nation. It’s not about news anymore. But corporate media doesn’t get to lie the country into a war and a financial crisis, continue enriching right-wing fabulists, offer up news literally “presented by” corporate villains, and then pretend that a podcaster is the singular source of misinformation. And it sure as hell doesn’t get to feign surprise when after decades of lies, almost nobody ends up trusting corporate media about anything. It’s about ratings and money. In fact, just this past week(2)>>the network averaged a paltry 585,000 total viewers in primetime, placing CNN all the way back in 17th place among all basic cable. Worse yet, the channel’s 120,000 viewers in the key primetime demographic were only good enough for 31st place among cable stations.   I've given up on pretty much all of the cable news in america CNN, Fox, (3)>>MSNBC... I don't really trust any of them. CNN is not exempt from the infotainment trend in America.  NOW we have more transparency with online media. thanks in large part to places like Reddit who are quick to point out unreliable sources. look at how Reddit treats DailyMail, PrisonPlanet /Infowars, CourthouseNews, and other sources of disreputable news and information. (3.1)>>I just cannot stand the left vs. right / us vs. them mentality that they all clearly have. Even the broadcast networks aren't much better. Can we please just get journalist who report only the facts, don't ignore stories that make their preferred political side look bad, don't over sensationalize everything, and don't interject their own opinions and biases into what is supposed to be "news", while not perfect and still prone to propaganda and groupthink, it is a MUCH better system than old media. The difference is that people look to CNN for the real news and are finally realizing that they no longer provide it. AS FAR CNN ratings have gone down the hill . To add, "reporting only the facts" is not just reporting/repeating what a politician says. Report if the politician's statement is correct or not. Report if the politician's statement conveniently contradicts what they said

protests and that also peaceful.

last week or last year. It's a goddamn disgrace that this is left to The Daily Show and their ilk. It's sad that the viewers of satirical news shows are better informed than viewers of the actual news.
CNN’s ratings took a nosedive by a massive 90 percent both overall and in the all-important demographic coveted by advertisers in the first week of the new year.  (4)>>The Jeff Zucker-led cable news network averaged just 548,000 viewers during the week of Jan. 3 — a major drop from the nearly 2.7 million viewers for the same week in 2021, according to Nielsen ratings. The year-ago ratings were jolted by the left-leaning network’s coverage of the Jan. 6 attack on the US Capitol, which resulted in (5)>>CNN having its most-watched day since Ted Turner launched the news outlet in 1980. But on the one-year anniversary of the attacks, viewers flipped over to CNN’s right-wing rival, Fox News, which topped the ratings for coverage of the event.
I watched a lot of CNN during the recent presidential election run.I only occasionally and casually watched CNN before that. However, I was stunned to see how extremely biased the reporting and the interviews were. It was even more disturbing when the reporters would try to defend their neutrality. What ever happened to “Just report the news”. All of it. Both sides of it. They lost a lot of credibility in my books. Any “news” source loses its credibility when it becomes overly biased to the point of not presenting both sides of a story in a balanced manner. It would be interesting to see a lawyer’s perspective on whether news outlets can be sued for reporting in a blatantly biased fashion.  (6)>>YOU MUST REMEMBER CNN was # 1 news network doing 24hr spin on Trump .Yes, it’s no longer an addiction to all the zany Trump content they produced every day. He was a circus and gave them great ratings. Look for them to start manufacturing more content in 2023-2025 when he inevitably wins again.
MSNBC
If the last four years have taught us anything, it is the need for more education surrounding the topics that directly and indirectly impact us all.yet did the media ever attempt to educate about what different forms of government would actually mean for the vast majority of the population in a given country? Stop peddling controversy, especially this right-wing vs left-wing divisiveness.Let's be honest, the cable news media in general has been a (7)>>soap opera/reality TV show for over a decade with Maddow. There are villains, drama, gossip and righteous outrage. What there isn't is actual news. But let's be honest. Actual news is boring. Nobody wants to watch a half hour of well researched content about water systems maintenance, so we get flint michigans over and over again and we don't even know about it (8)>>...MSNBC worried about post Trump ratings? Foolish and absurd. First of all, TRMS will continue to soar as she has more time for her investigative deep dive. Secondly, just because the Clown Prince will finally be where he can do the least damage to our democracy, does not mean that the Clown Show will suddenly end. The deep divide in this country will not just disappear January 21st. there is much to unpack there, from travels around red and blue America, to dropped investigations that need to be picked up by intrepid journalists to expose the truth.
CNN as "fake" NEWS, WAR MONGERING PROPAGANDA .
American broadcast media systematically has distorted the news of any war and functioned as an electronic arm of the Pentagon and the mostly (9)>>PRO WAR CNN right now is brimming with coverage of the  (10)>>Ukraine Crisis , that at "any minute" Russia will invade .Oh what wait no war ??? you said it was only hours away , citing government intelligence , does that mean you have been lying again or have the CIA and FBI just been found out to be a bunch of warmongering idiots and Putin has just played the game according to your rules.Western politicians and media representatives continue to spread numerous speculations about possible Russian aggression . There was also an acute recognition that the  (11)>>American public was weary and wary of war. Costly and questionable missions, particularly in Iraq -Afghanistan , had drained support. Please explain why CNN brings on warmongering “military analysts” with ties to weapons manufacturers to give their opinion? Their should be a warning or statement that says “this person has a vested interest in war occurring…” before they speak.CNN is so desperate to distract from their own messy, warmongering corrupt platform that they’ll shriek out some pretty wild shit.If you haven’t already, now is a great time to ban all warmongering  (11)>>U.S. legacy media “news” from your daily diet.  We must send a strong message that their complicity in creating unnecessary, murderous wars is unacceptable!
CNN SEX SCANDALS . FINAL WORD .
In the case of CNN’s recent debacles, context is crucially important.  It's like a soap opera , never ending soap opera! .The list of their scandals includes Jeffrey Toobin, Chris Cuomo, Don Lemon and now, Chris Cuomo’s producer and right-hand man, John Griffin. The reason for this lack of coverage is because the media and Hollywood are all in bed with each other. Harvey Weinstein was lauded by the Clintons.  (12)>>How has CNN responded to these various scandals? Regarding their anchors, Don Lemon is still enjoying support from the network, with CNN publicly issuing a statement of support as its star anchor is sued for sexual assault. Jeffrey Toobin’s masturbation debacle is as if it never occurred as he continues to provide legal analysis on various stories. In the case of Chris Cuomo, he was thrown under the bus by the network, but only months after the allegations of aiding his brother’s political battle came to light. Some anchors at CNN such as Brian Stelter are attempting to distance themselves from Cuomo, ignoring that Cuomo was praised by all, even after he was revealed.CNN is merely a barometer that measures the failings of mankind. The scandal ridden news has a credibility problem as well. Nothing new here, just the fixation that distracts every American from the bigger picture.

NOTES AND COMMENTS:

(1)>>firing of its primetime star Chris Cuomo.  It wasn't illegal / unethical for him to do it as a brother. It was unethical for him to do it as a paid employee of CNN, an employee with a public-facing role as one of their anchors, and not disclose that he was doing this. Chris’ brother was the governor of NY state, Andrew Cuomo. Andrew was involved in a sex harassment scandal (at least 10 women reported harassment) and Chris, instead of distancing himself like a journalist should, got involved and essentially advised his brother how to get out of the scandal without accepting blame.Andrew eventually stepped down in August, after repeatedly denying guilt. He was pressured by elites in his party to resign, including President Biden, after a damning report from his own state’s Attorney general, Letitia James. The report confirmed the women’s allegations. This investigation was also what shined light on how involved Chris was in advising his brother, although the info was not originally in the report on Andrew’s misconduct. James’ office declassified documents recently which included information about Chris’ involvement as an advisor to Andrew, which some have stated amounts to him being an unpaid government staffer/aide.Further, Chris had a very public relationship with his brother that was unethical beyond this singular moment. Similar to why doctors don’t treat family members and judges don’t preside over family member cases, journalists should not be involved in any story that involves their family. CNN should have shut that ish down immediately and barred Chris from ever interviewing his brother. But they let ratings and money win out over journalistic integrity. To even call Chris a journalist is a bit of a stretch. He was a “pundit” at best.1.1)>>New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo. Of course. Another democrat who champions womens rights is actually sexually harassing women. Of course, why am I not surpirsed. Imagine my shock. It's more like this case seems like the Coumos just didn't care how blatant they were showing eachother favoritism in their roles, or former role in one case..INTERESTINGLY ANDREW was CNN's poster boy from 2019 to 2021 , he was constantly praised for his handling of the Covid pandemic , which we know as a real flop . He was fighting Trump pretty much during 2020 , again on CNN . His briefings were a MESS from the get go. He’s 100% a step behind NJ. When he closed the Gyms he told a young female reporter he’d like to show her his own personal home gym sometime. He hit on a reporter DURING A STATE OF EMERGENCY BRIEFING. He’s a total sleezebag. If you follow state by state briefings NJ has been on top of this and put pressure on Cuomo. The same day NJ closed 100% bars and restaurants (before NY mind you) Cuomo stated that this wasn’t a big deal and ranted about the ages of his family members and how he’s only worried about his mom.Gtfo of here praising Cuomo over this. It’s pathetic and clear that folks aren’t watching briefings or only just tuned in.(2)>>the network averaged a paltry 585,000 total viewers in primetime, placing CNN all the way back in 17th place among all basic cable. As Baragona notes, the Trump presidency end its end delivered big numbers to CNN. "CNN’s 2020 growth was explosive, especially compared to its two main rivals," he says. "For example, the network’s total day audience in the key demo grew by 90 percent, compared to MSNBC’s 33 percent and Fox News’ 46 percent bump. In primetime, CNN’s key demographic viewership rose by a whopping 102 percent, and its total viewership in those 8 to 11 p.m. hours jumped 83 percent. After starting 2021 as the most-watched cable network, CNN is ending the year with just one timeslot in the Top 25 of all cable news shows -- the one previously occupied by the fired Chris Cuomo.(3)>>MSNBC...MSNBC had a tough time  LAST YEAR with historic ratings declines followed by an evening of its hosts and pundits being ridiculed for a series of election night meltdowns and inaccurate claims. And that’s true, as its 2021 Nielsen ratings were down from recent years’ numbers. Who’s the worst? MSNBC. It stands for Microsoft NBC. Bill Gates ran Microsoft. Therefore we can assume MSNBC pushes a Democrat agenda while pretending to report news. Also, notice that about every 4th commercial is a drug commercial. It matches their viewers: Drug-users. MSNBC ratings (if nothing else) the network devoted ridiculous amounts of time to Trump's rallies both during the 2016 .(3.1)>>I just cannot stand the left vs. right / us vs. them . I blame the 24 h our news cycle, but that’s a long rant not related to this conversation. CNN is the worst offender in the 24 hr propaganda war , it has gone worse since the pandemic exploded . People look at CNN as the ONLY SOURCE , believe everything they are reporting as 'true'. If you lean one way or another, you’ll probably consider your favorite source “real” and everything to the other side as leaning that way. Most will agree with the scale in those directions. For example, if you normally get your news from Fox, then you probably think CNN is left leaning and not centrist at all. But you wouldn’t argue that MSNBC and Slate are more left leaning, and that Occupy is just nuts.(4)>>The Jeff Zucker-led cable news network. But with Trump out, CNN’s ratings crashed and are still sliding, a deep decline that has become even more perilous with Zucker gone and CNN’s mission uncertain. There’s also been almost no internal communication to the company as a whole in the week since Zucker’s departure, with the exception of two cut-and-dry emails Kilar sent to the entire operation: one to say he had accepted Zucker’s resignation. Zucker, it should be noted, played a pivotal role in the development of CNN+, and his departure could not have come at a more inopportune time for the service, which is finalizing such key elements as launch date, pricing and marketing. With Zucker gone,There are many layers to the Zucker saga that one has to peel away before reaching what I see as the crux of the matter: the stunning disconnect between what really matters to the cloistered community of careerist six-figure elites who went to the same Ivy League schools and dine at the same D.C. steakhouses, and what their angry, resentful viewers actually care about. It’s clear that CNN’s on-air stars are seriously confused about the difference between a great boss —(5)>>CNN having its most-watched day since Ted Turner launched the news outlet in 1980.  Turner is a genius , we all know that have to give him credit for the creation of many cable networks . That was way back in 1980, but CNN strayed away from real news , to a more polarized , left political propaganda machine. Ted Turner's creation of a 24/7 news network that would exist on something called cable TV. was terrible! CNN lost all credibility under him. He turned CNN into left-wing tabloid news. Hopefully they can clean house and get rid of all the partisans. They need to get rid of people like Jim Acosta, Brian Stelter, Don Lemon and all the rest of the extreme partisans. I have no problem with a guy like Wolf Blitzer. He is a pro. He shows no bias. That is how news people are supposed to behave. (6)>>YOU MUST REMEMBER CNN was # 1 news network doing 24hr spin on Trump .I stopped watching CNN and MSNBC in late 2017 because of the non-stop trump coverage. I just couldn't tune in to cable stations that promoted trump lies. I am also doing the same with digital media who saturate their medium with trump articles. I honestly had enough of the entire family and couldn't care less if I never hear trump's voice or idiotic comments ever again. I'm over him.(7)>>soap opera/reality TV show for over a decade with Maddow . "The Rachel Maddow Show" shed at least 20% of viewers across the board during the namesake host’s first week of a temporary hiatus that left the network with a massive hole during a key hour of programing. MSNBC will turn to a rotating cast of hosts to fill in over the next two months. Up first is Ali Velshi, who has regularly sat in for Maddow and other MSNBC hosts. Velshi will fill in for Maddow through Feb. 11.Maddow will remain off the show until April, though she is expected to appear on MSNBC during its coverage of large news events, such as President Joe Biden’s first State of the Union speech, scheduled for March 1.(8)>>...MSNBC worried about post Trump ratings? Barely two months into the post-Trump era, news outlets are indeed losing much of the audience and readership they gained during his chaotic presidency. In other words, journalism’s Trump bump may be giving way to a slump.Only 847,000 viewers stayed with MSNBC during the April to June quarter and even less remained with CNN whose audience shrunk to 654,000. For instance, CNN host Chris Cuomo has recently faced sexual harassment allegations while MSNBC host Joy Reid referred to Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas as Uncle Clarence and failed to apologise. These and other public scandals have been listed by experts as having a corrosive effect on public opinion and trust in the media organisations.(9)>>PRO WAR CNN.  "Liberal" media works for the Military industrial Complex.  In this narrow context, the real, lasting and graphic human consequences of war are rarely given attention or exposure. Rather, war is considered solely through the antiseptic prism of its domestic political and international geopolitical ramifications. NOW while CNN hires leaders from our military & spy apparatus to present pro- war positions? If you dig deep enough, you see familiar faces with different names over last 15 years filling roles as “experts” and then they’re gone. (10)>>Ukraine Crisis . Real War in #Yemen no coverage , no war in Ukraine every hour on @CNN but @clarissaward conveniently omits Ukraine Pres " WANTS PROOF " of imminent attack , cs it doesn't fit pro war narrative .Interesting how CNN use English "Reporters" to spread Pro-War Lies to Americans.(11)>>American public was weary and wary of war.   Media sources, like CNN, have grown to so influential on public opinion that they can force the different parties at war to focus on certain issues by raising public awareness of the issue.  This has become to be known as “the CNN effect” .  Why does our nation keep trying to kill its way to peace? Why do we continue to send American men and women to die in villages that most Americans have never heard of? Why do we spend trillions of dollars paying for these wars? Why do they continue under progressive internationalists like Barack Obama as well as “America First”  like Donald Trump? And why are they backed by legislators spanning the spectrum from liberal Democrats to conservative Republicans so pro WAR ? (11)>>U.S. legacy media “news” from your daily diet. Watching mainstream news media can be a addiction , far worse than porn. The good guys and the bad guys can often both be guilty of misleading their people with distortions, exaggerations, subjectivity, inaccuracy and even fabrications, in order to receive support and a sense of legitimacy. Cutting off the whole "media" maybe more helpful for the soul.(12)>>How has CNN responded to these various scandals? The ethical no-nos at CNN, furthermore, don’t reflect the ideological corruption alleged in cartoon depictions of CNN. Yes, some anchors have made some statements over the air regarding what is going on , the leaning of "failure" with CNN is 24 hr tabloid fear mongering .
