This poses a question , how secure American air space really is ??It’s a flex and a very clear message to the world. China proves they aren’t scared or worried about what the US might do while the US government carefully tiptoes around to avoid any escalations.So, this giant balloon that can be seen by with the naked eye somehow just appeared over Montana? This thing had to have been on radar for days before that. If it had been deemedc a threat it could have easily been shot down over the pacific.(2)>>The Pentagon said that similar incidents happened in the past and there were zero news stories about them, since worrying about minor things like rogue balloons is really stupid. do people really believe it's a Chinese spy balloon? if it was a spy balloon, it wouldn't even be on the news because the US would have secretly shot it down before it even got to Montana let alone Alaska. The US response to it could be strictly grandstanding propaganda, or it could be a real response to data exfil. If they had something that could more accurately sense the weapons count of silos to see if they're real vs fake, etc.I'm just curious how aware they were of this anomaly until it entered US airspace. Like, was Canada aware of it? Most likely timetable for a Taiwan invasion is late 20s/early 30s, with early 30s being the most likely. A conflict COULD happen earlier but that is extremely unlikely.Most of the mainstream Western articles I've read have been focused on the impending demographic collapse that South Korea and Japan are facing, and particularly how those governments are unwilling to solve the problem with more immigration or serious policies to make raising children more affordable. Given that the ROK has the lowest birth rate in the world, by some margin, this is an understandable focus.Vast majority of Western "experts" have literally nfc what they are talking about in regards to China. One of the main issues though is that very little Western pundits have any clue what Marxism or Marxist Leninism actually is, so don't understand the framework or world view the Chinese are politically working within. On top of that, you have literally thousands of years of Chinese Legalism/culture that Marxism is filtered through.In regards to Taiwan, it's a civilizational issue for China, Taiwan will be part of China again at some point, but that may be hundred+ years from now. NORAD has been tracking the Chinese balloon at least since January 28th , it raises a lot of questions why WAS IT NOT SHOT DOWN BEFORE ? According to NORAD, the U.S. government has detected and is tracking a “high altitude surveillance balloon” that is over the continental U.S. According to a report by AP News, China has said the balloon is a “civilian airship used for meteorological research.” American defence officials recommended against taking “kinetic action” against the balloon, for fear the debris could threaten people or infrastructure on the ground. The official notes the balloon appears to be loitering over US airspace for longer than in previous incidents. The Pentagon reiterates it does not believe the balloon represents a significant intelligence threat.The object first flew over Alaska’s Aleutian Islands and Canada before appearing over Billings on Wednesday, officials said.Serious thought, I wonder if the US has flown high altitude spy planes, drones or balloons over parts of China - stuff we’d never know about - and if China is saying “See, if you can do it, so can we”, and if that’s playing into the reason why the US isn’t shooting it down (so China doesn’t shoot down whatever continues to be sent over it’s territory). Just a thought - it can be a whacky world.
