One of the biggest (1)>>American Scams has to be any "infrastructure plans" dished out from the government. Infrastructure, according to Google, is "the basic physical and organizational structures and facilities (e.g. buildings, roads, power supplies) needed for the operation of a society or enterprise." Currently we have the " Build Back Better " , or " American Jobs Plan" . Whatever name , which ever US President write one of for the American people has never worked . I have seen almost 30 years worth of plans that claim to do things for the American people , create more jobs always has done just the opposite. So, virtually everyone in the USA agrees on the need for an infrastructure bill. ONE THAT ACTUALLY WORKS AND GIVES BACK TO THE AMERICAN TAX PAYER . The plan under Biden is vary obvious , (2)>>its about RAISING TAXES on you . If you look at the history of any infrastructure plans they have little effect on creating jobs .So the American Society of Civil Engineers released its analysis of the nation’s infrastructure, giving it a C-minus. Just why am I not surprised? For decades, both major parties have called for modernizing the country’s highways, roads, airports, rail lines, broadband networks and power grids.Most of the trillions of dollars spent has barely rebuilt any roads .The states want the Feds to pay for infrastructure because the Democrats that run blue states don't spend money on infrastructure or maintenance. That's why when Democratic presidents get elected there's always talk about "shovel-ready" projects. (3)>>What happened to all those so-called "shovel-ready" projects that Obama funded? Did that money just go to public sector pensions?One of the big issues with infrastructure is notoriety. If a bridge costs 2m for repairs they would rather not invest it, let the bridge go to shit until it’s dangerously damaged, and then get emergency funding from the federal government. Now they’ve built a new bridge, are known for building the new bridge, and gotten someone else to pay for it.A big disappointment for me is that California wasted so much on a high speed rail from san fran to LA, instead of building more metro lines inside the cities. The high speed train will cost the same if not more than a flight. I feel bolstering the cities internal infrastructure would boost the economy better and drastically decrease the traffic. But who knows, maybe they did the math. We’re supposed to get both eventually, but our metro line building plans seem to go at a snails pace. (4)>>The whole country is literally falling apart. Bridges and roads and all. Our infrastructure was stressed before but given the extreme temps we seem to be having this summer things are going to be extra fucked up. Not to mention private infrastructure is now collapsing due to lack of attention and inspections (mostly speaking of that condo in Florida).The US is quickly becoming a 3rd world country despite it having the money and means to address it.
Infrastructure Plans CONTAIN PORK SPENDING.
BUT now under critical review giving money away to illegals who were separated at the border . Here is why Biden's plan is almost all "pork" . (5)>>NOW pay $450,000 per person to illegal immigrants who had been separated during the Trump administration could exceed the payments given to some families of 9/11 victims and Gold Star families.The Wall Street Journal reported Thursday that the departments of Justice, Homeland Security, and Health and Human Services are considering payments of $450,000 to those who crossed the border illegally and were separated from family members. It is in response to a lawsuit by civil rights groups. The payments could therefore amount to close to $1 million per family and $1 billion overall, although the Journal said that many families would get smaller payouts. This whole plan . (5.1)>>Will it actually address infrastructure? To some degree, certainly, but I wouldn’t get too excited. There is no question that it will fund many projects across the country, including repaved roads and repaired bridges, as well as new construction of popular things like broadband capacity. But my suspicion is that five or 10 years from now we’ll still be hearing from politicians about “crumbling infrastructure” in this country, and our need to do something about it. The pending $1.5 trillion legislative bill in Congress, so named the Infrastructure Bill awaits the passage of another larger multl-trillion dollar bill before being brought to vote in the House of Representatives. But before we say we need the second add on bill, let’s examine the Infrastructure Bill passed by the Senate. The bill includes the following allocations in billions of dollars: $110 billion for roads and bridges; $66 billion for rail; $40 billion for public transit; $65 billion for internet (of which $30 per month will be disbursed to low-income families); $65 billion for the electrical grid; $50 billion for cyber attack resiliency; $7.5 billion for charging stations; and $7.5 billion for school buses and ferries.If you add up all of the above allocations, they total $411 billion. So where does the balance of over $1 trillion go to support our infrastructure. (6)>>You guessed it… to the deep pockets of the Congressional special projects; in other words to the “pork projects” in some areas of our country. As bad as the $1 trillion in spending is, behind it is the next iteration, a larger $3.5 trillion package of liberal wishes and dreams cleverly marketed as “more infrastructure.” A framework for this highly partisan bill was pushed through. NOW the problem is with the Democrats, they cannot have anybody not support this, and Manchin and Sinema, both moderate Democrats from conservative states, have signaled they won't support it in it's current form. So some changes and cuts are necessary to get them on board, but once they show that they can force it through without GOP support a couple of the moderate Republicans will probably jump on board, in order to try and buoy their re-election chances in 2022.
How to REALLY REALLY Build Back Better.
WE REALLY need to build back better . We need to rebuild America , but we must be doing it the right way , spend that money for ONLY American citizens . So far , the last years so called Covid relief package for example included so much pork and outsourcing of American money to foreign countries that American's only got a mere 600$ for economic help but while trillions were funneled to projects that hardly helped any Americans recover . A necessary condition for a successful infrastructure
program is appropriate strategic planning. This
requires identifying which investments should be
undertaken, determining the essential components,
needs and trade-offs, and how they should be prioritized.
Conversely, weak or insufficient planning often impedes
their successful implementation and operation later in
the project cycle. The reason why designing a clear and
coherent strategic vision is difficult stems essentially
from the complex nature of infrastructure investment. (7)>>So, I think this ‘infrastructure’ plan has a lot of pork to benefit key voting blocs for him . I don’t think these measures belong in an infrastructure plan. I think the covid relief also had a lot of pork - should’ve just been a stimulus. It isn't that I think Democratic proposals are perfect and I have complaints about Biden, etc. It's that the alternative appears to be "do nothing."Climate change? Doesn't exist. Healthcare system? Best in the world, no changes needed. Inequality? Not a problem -- just pull yourself up by your bootstraps. Infrastructure investment? I offer no solutions, I just want to say that Biden's plan stinks.As long as one side is offering imperfect solutions and the other is offering nothing, the choice will remain pretty obvious.

Obama used the phrase “shovel-ready projects” in reference to construction projects that could begin right away.In the end, however, only $98.3 billion of the $800 billion stimulus was dedicated to transportation and infrastructure. Of that $98.3 billion, only about $27.5 billion was actually spent on transportation infrastructure projects.When it comes to economic stimulus, local governments may take years to begin actual construction even once they receive funding. More and more Americans believe the US is falling apart. Behind this is their declining confidence in the country. The country that they used to believe was omnipotent has in fact made them fall into distress, fear and horror. We also need to question what infrastructure we need. Low density development is extremely inefficient and expensive. Way fewer tax dollars per mile of road/cable/pipe. We need to actually densify and reduce how much infrastructure we need before climate change wallop us. I'd like to know of an example of where a infrastructure project failed after just 25% of its expected lifecycle. I'm guessing this the exception not the norm. The problem we have right now in the US is that much of our infrastructure has surpassed its intended lifecycle and needs replaced or repaired. They've ballooned the debt by spending and basically giving money to private interests to do their job, with large profit margins.The government is still small if it's paying the bills and has no control over outcomes.Small government is like a rich trust fund kid that just cuts checks for everything and has no idea how to do anything for itself.Until the money runs out. Small government = higher debt. Sadly, probably an economic boom or whichever of the House or Senate getting the 60 or 66% majority it needs to not have to deal with people voting to screw us all.out of spite, pride, ego, corruption, and whatever the hell else prevents the lunatics up there from doing things that benefit 99% of the population. It won't get that unless Republicans fully implode somehow, which they're trying their hardest to do it seems, but luckily they're bad at pretty much everything they do. It's like watching a Kmart brand version of the mob try to overthrow the country.
