Every President in recent memory has had a 'crisis' (if you want to call it that) at the border. As for covid spread, what is his evidence that he and not Biden is correct? I'll just hang up and listen. The crisis on the Southern border continued. (1)>>A massive influx of people — largely driven by Central Americans, many of them children — drawn here in the expectation of lax immigration enforcement is overwhelming border officials and facilities. The "blame" games shifted away from Trump who wanted to build a wall , control the influx of undocumented crossing. While the crisis on the border was decades in the making , it peeked under President Obama. IN 2014 , President Barack Obama had asked Congress for $3.7bn in extra funding to tackle an immigration crisis at the southern border. He increased the cages that were erroneously attributed to Trump. Not to mention that (2)>>BARACK was the one who built and utilized all the detention centers that the liberals/regressives complained about when President Trump was in office, but never said one word when such "atrocities" were occurring while Barack was occupying the White House – NOR NOW WHEN BIDEN IS PUTTING THOSE POOR CHILDREN THROUGH FAR WORSE - in fact the policies were CREATED by Barack - and once again, President Trump tried to clean up Barack's mess and actually did something about it – AND REVERSED THE POLICY (only for Biden to reinstate it and create an even worse situation for those children than Barack). Even Barack's own head of Homeland Security admitted this. The border crisis is of a piece with a broad unraveling of any president’s policy . Regarding Obama erstwhile spiritual mentor might have put it under the category of “chickens coming home to roost.” (3)>>Now it's Joe Biden's turn fix the mess of his two predecessors , but fix a hard line policy he helped create when he was Vice President .While Biden is pushing forward on the first two goals, he’s unlikely to get anything major passed in Congress. What’s more his efforts appear to be costing him the third goal as migrants rush the southern border and the executive branch struggles to deal with it. Since taking office, Biden has also given them good reason to think they might be allowed to stay, as his immigration bill would offer legal status and a pathway to citizenship to much of the U.S. undocumented population. Biden needs to admit that his eagerness to roll back Trump’s immigration policies without a meaningful plan to deal with the predictable migration increase has led to more chaos at the border.
The Undocumented and Covid "super spreaders".
Biden's 2023 "migrant surge ". a Million people march north during a 3rd wave pandemic hits America. |
Biden’s efforts to reverse some of former President Donald Trump’s restrictive border policies have been accompanied by an upswing in border arrivals. As of Friday, the Department of Health and Human Services’ refugee office had about 8,800 unaccompanied children in custody. In 2019, during a trip to the Texas-Mexico border and a Mexican Military base, then Senate Homeland Security Committee Chairman Jim Inhofe, R-Okla., touted a brand new partnership with Mexico, where troops would help with enforcement and the country would take part in the Migrant Protection Protocols program, also known as the Remain in Mexico policy. Now there are growing signs that partnership may be waning. CBP has confirmed Mexico is no longer accepting some family groups; the country is overwhelmed by the number of migrants from Central America, as well as the threat from the coronavirus pandemic. It has increased concerns for ICE and Border Patrol agents in this country, with reports of thousands of migrants still making the trek, possibly arriving at U.S. borders in a matter of days.Biden officials tend to discuss the “push factors,” the conditions that prompt migrants to flee their countries in Central America. What we have much more direct control over is the “pull factors,” our own policies and practices that create an incentive to come here. Trump had a number of false starts at the border. By the end, though, he had created an entirely reasonable system based on his lawful authorities to impose order the border.During the pandemic, Trump turned around people who illegally crossed borders on public health grounds. (4)>>Biden has created an exception for unaccompanied minors, which is an obvious incentive for families to send children under age 18.This has been going on for a year: Halloween festivities, Thanksgiving feasts, Christmas swaps, Super Bowl watch parties — all of these “potential super spreaders” were off-limits.But you might notice that these experts are a lot less vocal about illegal immigrants who are testing positive for the coronavirus after entering the country. The New York Post wrote, “More than 100 illegal immigrants who tested positive for the coronavirus — after their arrival in Texas since late January — have been released by the Border Patrol into the Lone Star State and are free to travel to other parts of the U.S.Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador and Mexico issued a joint declaration earlier this week imposing coordinated health measures to deter migration, including requirements to produce negative coronavirus tests at border checkpoints. The tightening by Mexican and Central American authorities, coupled with pandemic-linked U.S. border restrictions in place since last March, represent a sweeping effort to use public health regulations to deter movement along one of the world's busiest migration routes at a time when a fierce second wave of coronavirus is sweeping the region. ”Where is Dr. Fauci and the contact-tracing committee?
NOTES AND COMMENTS:
(1)>>A massive influx of people —More than 1,000 people a day who had been detained after crossing have been released into the country in recent days in a swift reversal from the Trump administration’s near shutdown of the border. Many more people are gathering on the Mexican side, aggravating conditions there and testing America’s ability and willingness to admit migrants during a pandemic.Alabama Congressman Mo Brooks has joined other Republican lawmakers calling on Dr. Anthony Fauci to use his influence to stop “a dangerous new foreign pipeline for COVID-19” along America’s Mexican border. The March 12 letter from Brooks and other lawmakers also seeks action from the director of the National Institutes for Health saying the Biden administration has resumed “the dangerous immigration policy of ‘catch and release’” along the border.“Hundreds of illegal immigrants” have been released at the border “on nothing more than a promise to appear at a future hearing,” the letter said. The releases are happening with no testing or quarantine measures “despite the face that Mexico now has the highest per capita COVID fatality rate in Latin America,” the letter said.(2)>>BARACK was the one who built and utilized all the detention centers. Actually Obama built the cages they were never used during his presidency and were only intended as short term holding cell's Trump turned them into prison's. Liberals have long been horrified by the Trump administration's approach to immigration enforcement. The oft-repeated phrase "kids in cages" — which refers to the Trump administration's practice of ripping children away from their parents and detaining them separately at the border — became a rallying cry for Trump's opponents looking to highlight his pernicious cruelty to immigrant communities . In 2013 , The problem has become so serious that Vice President Joe Biden met with Central American leaders in Guatemala to talk about the issues that are said to be driving this surge across the border. (3)>>Now it's Joe Biden's turn fix the mess of his two predecessors . After attacking President Trump for putting “kids in cages,” the Biden administration needed to make a drastic change — so they switched out the Obama-built cages and opted for shipping containers.Naturally, the press helped them with this awkward semantics transition. They now refer to detention centers as “migrant overflow facilities.”But even the mainstream media can’t distract from the current administration’s problem at the border.
