Wanton vandalism of America.

A crowd of masked protesters toppled a statue of Christopher Columbus in the Little Italy neighborhood in Baltimore on Saturday evening.
I saw an article about recent protests, which mentioned burning down a former slave auction site, along with  (1)>>destroying confederate statues. I don’t care about the statues, but when you start destroying historical sites, you are in the wrong. The Taliban destroyed the Buddhas of Bamyan and that alone should be enough justification for us to try and destroy them. Same thing with Isis. Destroying historical sites ruins them for future generations, and prevents people from learning their history. It should been seen as a crime against all humanity to destroy historical sites.Monuments and public sculptures across the US are being  (2)>>vandalised amid the ongoing protests and riots following the murder of George Floyd at the hands of a white police officer in Minneapolis, Minnesota, on 25 May. And while these acts—which mostly target monuments glorifying colonisation and racial inequity—are being widely praised on social media, some artists and public officials are condemning the defacement of public works, arguing that vandalism does not add to the protestors’ cause even as it highlights the long legacy of state-sponsored violence in the US. The U.S. Constitution states that American citizens have the right to free speech and the right of the people to peaceful assembly and to petition the government for redress of grievances. However, looting, destroying public and private property, and vandalizing historic monuments is not free speech. These actions not only border on anarchy but show a real lack of understanding history. As for whether removing statues is erasing history - in many ways it is. Removing monuments from the public square is pulling it out of the public eye and trying to reduce its significance and recognition. This isn’t a matter of not erecting new statues, this is about tearing down statues that already exist. Under the circumstances it is an attempt to blot out these figures as anything other than what one group of modern historians choose to paint them as. Purging our statues, our history, our beliefs, our

traditions, our security, and our country’s unity. Where does this stop? Do we start purging our history from our schools? Is it fair to only purge the accomplishments of non-black historical figures? If we politically agree to remove one statue, we should go all the way and remove them all. I’m positive that there is not one single statue in the USA that someone in the world doesn’t agree with. But this issue is much larger than any one statue, it’s about reorganizing America to fit the needs of the “Entitlement” generation. With all of this purging, are we heading towards a “Purge” to control our own disputes and crime. In several videos circulating on social media, white protesters deface or destroy property as black people tell them to stop. And they're revealing some of the tension between the factions of people taking to the streets. One video shows a white woman defacing a Starbucks store, writing "Black Lives Matter" with spray paint. So is it   (3)>>ALL about Black Liberation or it's a bunch of furstrated White People who "hate" their own nation ?I understand that prejudice and racism exists in our world. It is not right, but these riots do absolutely nothing to gain anything for the oppressed. In fact, it paints them in a bad light, especially because of the looting that is going on, the burning of apartments and small businesses, and the violence towards officers attempting to keep the city safe. No, not all officers are good people. But rioting and destroying entire city blocks, as well as small businesses during a fucking pandemic is despicable. The riots and lootings and fires are the

results of opportunistic anarchists taking advantage of the hurt and anger over yet another instance of police brutality in this state and country.
Most if not all of the people rioting and looting and setting things on fire don’t care about a cause or the community.  NOW idiots, there are people just wantonly going after random people, robbing them, (4)>>burning down BLACK OWNED BUSINESSES, a black cop got killed in a riot in another state but hey lets pretend these people care for blacks. one more thing, randomly smashing people driving by's windows is NOT helping anything. Can you please justify just attacking random people for me. I'll wait.
I think the rioters are almost as bad as the officers that caused all of this to kick off. They are destroying things for no gain and just makes the whole thing look like a joke as they immediately resort to the thing they condemn. Violence for no real reason.Far-left protesters burned an American flag near the White House on Saturday and chanted, "America was never great" moments after President Trump finished delivering a speech at the "Salute to America" Independence Day celebration. Again , White Americans buring down the flag. It's no BLM, or Native American . It's your average  White American buring down America.

NOTES AND COMMENTS:

(1)>>destroying confederate statues. This is a bit awkward to answer since I’m not sure whether to primarily defend the merits of keeping Confederate monuments or why removing monuments in general is erasing history. Confederate soldiers were ultimately still American soldiers. They viewed their fight as doing what the Founding Fathers would’ve wanted - rising up against (what they viewed as) a tyrannical government infringing on their sovereignty. Most of the Confederate soldiers were simply regular recruits fighting for their homeland. Further, the sacrifices the Southerners made in the Civil War are a very important aspect of southern culture in general. Fallen soldiers do not deserve to have their statues destroyed or removed - (2)>>vandalised amid the ongoing protests and riots following . What we are seeing today with riots, vandalism and the wanton destruction of public property and art is a natural and cancerous outgrowth of the encouragement and coddling of leftists and their violent but farcical anarchy.(3)>>ALL about Black Liberation or it's a bunch of furstrated White People who "hate" their own nation ?  Was it economic anxiety? The Washington Post reported that the state had “a large working class that has suffered through a long recession.” Was it a blow against the state’s hated political establishment? This explanation appeals to whites across the political spectrum. On the right, it serves as an indictment of elitist liberals who used their power to assist religious and ethnic minorities rather than all Americans; on the left, it offers a glimmer of hope that such voters can be won over by a more left-wing or redistributionist economic policy. It also has the distinct advantage of conferring innocence upon what is often referred to as the “white working class.” After all, it wasn’t white working-class voters’ fault. They were suffering; they had to do something.(4)>>burning down BLACK OWNED BUSINESSES. Peaceful marches to express outrage have at times morphed into melees that left police cruisers and buildings on fire and store shelves emptied. Among the ransacked shops have been those with black owners. In many cities across the nation, rioters took advantage of peaceful protests, vandalizing, looting, and — in some cases — completely destroying local businesses. Public officials said they were investigating whether political agitators posing as protesters may have led some of the looting. In some cities, peaceful protesters marching against police violence were outnumbered by others, such as white anarchists, who seemed more bent on destruction than messaging.
