The political mud slinging has begun

The cartoon says it . The mudslinging has begun. The truth will be twisted as accusations fly.

The political mud slinging has begun . We're 5 months till E-Day , the political ads are starting to flood TV with various inaccuracies  on both Obama and Romney campaign ads . President Barack Obama jabbed at Mitt Romney's record with a private equity firm in an ad Saturday that aimed to keep his rival on the defensive just as the Republican challenger's campaign hoped to take advantage of poor economic data to gain an edge on the incumbent.Obama met Romney's plea for an apology for the attacks with a mocking ad that charged that the firm shipped American jobs to China and Mexico, that Romney has personal wealth in investments in Switzerland, Bermuda and the Cayman Islands, and that as Massachusetts governor, he sent state jobs to India. My own take on this is . That every politician in the past has failed . To accuse Romney of out-shoring American jobs is also inaccurate . The last two years of Bush there were many American jobs lost in manufacturing , some jumped ship and put factories in places like China . Just to pay below American minimum wage . Obama did nothing when he was in office to create jobs in the sense of the word . He saved a great deal of public sector jobs with his stimulus plan . That was a temporal fix . Now all those public sector jobs are at risk . There have been a great deal of layoffs in the public sector in the last three years . Mostly Teachers , Police and other public works . The percentage count of those public jobs lost is much higher than 8.2 percent . The 80,000 jobs that were created hover most of them temporal positions . The statistics often have been misquoted by media sources that insist that 2.3 million jobs have been created in the four years of Obama . The facts are in trustworthy . I don't think the government  even knows , often disinterested in facts if they contradict right wing ideology.  I suppose this post will also disappear shortly.  *** One of the facts was that 23 million jobs were created, not shipped overseas, during the Clinton administration may too be an exaggeration.  People saying Outsourcing drives the economy, this coming from experts and capitalists. Sure it keeps the price of certain goods down. But they are "consumer goods" extras in life that people don't need to live, but want because they make them look good.I have heard this time and again, and then I think back to 2008, 1982, 1927, 1898. The people said the same thing time and again in those era's as well to an extent. Keep costs down make more money. The result? Collapse after collapse after collapse. Is it possible the "experts" have been wrong the whole time? Or just looking out for their own ends? it seems to me that counter productive thinking is at the root of all of this.

NOTES & COMMENTS:

*** Clinton created 23 million jobs during eight years.  How many did G.W. Bush create in eight years. Look it up the bureau of labor statistics.  Outsourcing by corporations was what shipped our manufacturing jobs overseas to Asian sweatshops.  Next we have what looks like the criminalization of Romney as the former executive of BAIN. Digging the dirt on Mitt how he ran the company for me is not proof of any wrong doing on Mitt Romney's part . I would be more curious how he ran the state of Massachusetts

Made in America.

It would make me proud if the "Made in America" label were true again.

Made in America. Well the outrage over the  stylish uniforms for the U.S. Olympic team, complete with a jaunty beret, have sparked a political row because the red, white and blue outfits were made in China.  ** "It is not just a label, it's an economic solution," said Rep. Steve Israel, D-N.Y. "Today there are 600,000 vacant manufacturing jobs in this country and the Olympic committee is outsourcing the manufacturing of uniforms to China? That is not just outrageous, it's just plain dumb. It is self-defeating." I agree . The Chinese would not want to wear let's say military uniforms made in America?Israel urged the USOC to reverse the decision and ensure U.S. athletes wear uniforms that are made in America.Sens. Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio, and Kirsten Gillibrand, D-N.Y., separately sent letters to Lawrence Probst III, chairman of the USOC, complaining about the made-in-China uniforms. Brown suggested that the USOC find a manufacturer with a facility in the United States, suggesting the Hugo Boss plant in Cleveland.  Not that surprising considering just about everything consumed by the public today has a connection to China. Funny all of this outrage about the olympic uniforms being manufactured in China when the U.S Government itself made a financial deal with the Chinese to finance Americas debt! Pelosi,  Reid and others did not gripe and moan about that! "I think the Olympic Committee should be ashamed," Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nevada, told reporters on Capitol Hill on Thursday. Romney further blasted the U.S. Olympic committee saying the shirts should all be put in a pile and burned and that it would better for American athletes to wear shirts with USA hand painted on the front. ABC World News noted that every single piece of the uniforms, from the neckties to the shoes to those silly berets, was manufactured overseas. Nanette Lepore, a strong advocate of American-based manufacturing and New York City's Garment Center, told ABC World News, "Why shouldn't we have pride not only in the American athletes but in the American manufacturers and laborers who are the backbone of our country?"Ralph Lauren also found themselves in hot water over their 2010 U.S. Olympics uniforms, when members of the Daughters of the American Revolution threatened to ban Polo merchandise from being sold in certain country clubs because of the lack of patriotic insignia on the 2010 Olympic gear.

NOTES & COMMENTS:

**It is amazing how "capitalistic" corporations have no qualms whatsoever about turning their moneys to what is supposed to be the world's biggest communist country. A country that is considered a threat to world economies and to the United States political influence. Yet, business is business and profits dictate that we make our biggest nemesis the richest country in the world, all in the name of "free market" and profits. Unless you happen to be Cuba off course, then you are a "danger" to the world's social order, and need to be kept isolated and under embargo!

The Poll , Politics , and Reality.

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., left, and House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, should look worried . A new Poll in California could become trendy.

California is the "bluest" of all the states of the Union . The polls how ever are showing an ever greater dissemination  among the people,  Just 17 percent of the state’s voters approve of the work it's doing in Washington, while 74 percent disapprove and 9 percent have no opinion, according to a Field Poll conducted for The Press-Enterprise and other California media subscribers. The poll, released Thursday, July 12, underscores voters’ long-held frustration with Congress, which has been saddled with fierce partisanship and legislative gridlock in recent years.  Congress is on a down hill slide . The partisan bickering was on full display Wednesday, July 11, in the House, where lawmakers debated for hours before voting to repeal — for the 31st time — President Barack Obama’s signature health care reform law. The measure passed 244 to 185, with just five Democrats defecting to vote for it and zero Republicans breaking ranks to oppose it.The negativity is contributing to an increasingly popular view that the country would be better off if the same party ran everything. According to the poll, 46 percent of likely voters believe Congress should be controlled by the same party as the president, an increase from the 37 percent who believed that in Field's February poll.----Time to Vote out incumbents !

Meanwhile changing the subject . It's barely getting noted on the news with the exception of a CBS nightly news report of major American cities going bankrupt and unable to pay it's public workers their salaries .This one sent me fuming . It made me rethink Obama , so far he has yet to comment that Last Friday, the city of Scranton sent out paychecks to its employees, as it does every two weeks. But these checks were for amounts significantly smaller than usual because Mayor Chris Doherty reduced all city employees’ pay—including his own—to the state minimum wage of $7.25 an hour. Mayor Doherty is a long time Democrat . You'd think a hardcore Conservative Republican would slash wages . No NO . It's seems that mismanagement of funds is the problem here .  Mayor Chris Doherty  After sending out Friday’s checks, Scranton had only $5,000 left in the bank and still owed its 400 employees almost $1 million. The Fire Department , the Police Department & other Public Workers were reduced by the well off Mayor .But like many other states, Pennsylvania has rules in place that prohibit cities from filing bankruptcy without approval from the state. Mish’s final assessment is that “Inept city management, with public union wages and benefits at the heart of it, killed Scranton.” Whether or not Pennsylvania is prepared to admit it, Scranton is bankrupt, and the tensions there are rising.
And Scranton it is not the only U.S. city in such a condition.
San Bernardino is expected to become the third Californian city in two weeks to file for municipal bankruptcy protection as it wrestles with increasing employee costs and declining tax revenues. Last fall, Jefferson County, Alabama, filed the biggest Chapter 9 municipal bankruptcy in American history, leaving county commissioners planning to default on a general obligation bond payment. In late 2011, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, said it would default on a payment coming due to general obligation bondholders.Stockton, California, was in negotiations earlier this year in hopes of avoiding becoming the biggest American city yet to declare bankruptcy. The most recent reports said it is “very likely” that Stockton will go bankrupt. These are just a few of many examples. In the latest sign that some U.S. cities are barely making ends meet, the city of Oakland, California Thursday priced a $211 million taxable bond which will help it cover pension obligations. Yes, borrowing money to cover retiree pay.-------meanwhile again It’s a huge deficit.About $16 billion. That’s how far in the red California’s state budget is.Gov. Jerry Brown has a solution. He wants to raise taxes .As you might imagine, not everyone is thrilled.California, like Greece is perpetually in fiscal trouble. Overoptimistic revenue forecasts coupled with spending $2 billion more than expected has California in a deep hole. Governor Jerry Brown has the same non-solution as ever, hike taxes.

The Wealth FACTOR. A lesson.

Being wealthy is not a Crime in America . America has been outa touch with reality . The Rich have been in office for the last 100 years.
Mitt Romney for sure is no  Donald John Trump, Sr whose   Net worth: US$ 2.9 billion (2012) can't compare with Mr. Romney's  Net worth: US$ 200 million (2012) . Mitt Romney's financial portfolio has included an offshore company that remained invisible to voters as his political star rose.Based in Bermuda, Sankaty High Yield Asset Investors Ltd. was not listed on any of Romney's state or federal financial reports. The company is among several Romney holdings that have not been fully disclosed, including one that recently posted a $1.9 million earning — suggesting he could be wealthier than the nearly $250 million estimated by his campaign. Is Mitt Romney too rich to be president?  President Obama’s push on Monday to extend tax cuts for the middle class — but not for the rich — is being joined by a new, all-out effort from his allies to portray Mr. Romney as out of touch with average Americans. It seems to me that America is a country that is out of touch with a lot of things . Mr. Romney represents the cream at the top of a capitalistic cake that has far done better than  the average joe . Saying that Mr. Romney is out of touch is far from that truth . We the average American citizen is out of touch with reality . We  have elected the Rich in office for the last 100 years , and why complain now ? It seems again to me that the hijacking of America by the rich has slowly blinded 'us' with preconceived notions that Mr. Obama is the 'poor' black-man who got elected. That's a mere illusion . *** Mr. Obama is on the upscale too ( Obama's Net Worth : US$ 11.8 million 2012 ). Like going to the magic mirror and  saying  , " Mirror Mirror on the wall who is the richest of them all ......" . To say their all guilty of sin , there all filthy rich and hypocritical . Especially Mr. Obama. For going after Romney. Sure enough I do have a bone to pick when an American who is rich has his or her investments outside of the United States . Hidden as if hiding something . That's sure enough "un-American " not to invest your earnings in America ! No wonder our economy sucks! Our elected "rich" representatives of both Democrats and Republicans hide their wealth overseas  . Meanwhile Americans suffer . The Data is "staggering" . The Federal Reserve said the median net worth of families plunged by 39 percent in just three years, from $126,400 in 2007 to $77,300 in 2010. That puts Americans roughly on par with where they were in 1992. Meanwhile   Occupy Wall Street — took political theater to a new level Sunday outside the beachfront estate of billionaire David Koch, where the Republican candidate was raising money, for his run at a public office .  A rich guy raising money , asking money from the less affluent  .As you see the rich have been the ruling "class" always. Hollywood is  dank with Hypocrisy, recently  Jay Leno, who reportedly makes $32 million a year from his “Tonight Show” gig alone, and is reported to have a net worth of around $150 million, frequently incorporate Romney-related rich jokes into his late night program. “CNBC is reporting that America lost 129,000 millionaires last year. Mitt Romney calls them, ‘an endangered species ' Anyhow like the "Rich Man " Mr. Obama has been said to have said , and misquoted to have said . " It's time to spread the Wealth."

NOTES & COMMENTS:

*** Compared to the average American, Obama is very wealthy. Compared to the other presidential candidates in 2008, though, he was practically an indigent. His senator's salary was $165,200 (he'd earned just $60,000 as a state senator). His wife, Michelle, was the one bringing home the bacon — before she resigned in May 2007, she earned $317,000 a year as the vice-president for community affairs at the University of Chicago hospitals. Obama’s wealth derives from his books,Mitt Romney is by a long shot one of the wealthiest self-made men to ever run for president — John Kerry and John McCain's wealth were largely derived from their wives. Most estimates place his fortune anywhere between $190 million and $250 million, though former Massachusetts State Democrat Party chairman Phil Johnston told MSNBC it was likely closer to $500 million, and Romney’s close friend Hugh Hewitt guessed it could be as much as $1 billion. Don't forget that, as a Mormon, Romney would've paid a 10 percent tithe to the Church of Latter-Day Saints — so all that dough is after taxes and tithing. While the other Republican candidates are also millionaires, their wealth does not come close to that of Romney’s. Still, judging from the net worth of all presidential nominees, politicians need to be wealthy to run for high office.

In praise of Senator Joseph Simitian.

We at least have a Senator who reasons well in California.
In  praise of  Senator Joseph Simitian (D-Palo Alto)—chair of the high-speed rail committee and candidate for a Santa Clara County Supervisor seat—who voted against the project. There is at least one elected official of caliber to stand up to Gov. Brown's High Speed Train to nowhere .  Senator Simitian is a tax payer's friend .  ***The approval of the initial funds of the proposed $68 billion California High-Speed Rail, obviously have to come from Taxes , if you think hard and do your math .  It's vary costly . There will always be a budget ax someplace else. The State Spends nearly 60 billion on education and at the  same time how is it's going to juggle exactly the same amount to spend it on a high speed rail project that is costly and most of the "resources" to this project will come out side of the United States ?  There is a false belief among some lawmakers that the rail will bring jobs to California . I ask how so ? Is the state willing to pay any American a decent wage to build the high speed rail ? , or is  going to hire "day laborers " to do the job . How much enough will Chinese imported steel be used on it's tracks?  Get this it's a mere fraction of a 140 mile stretch costing 8 billion .Democratic senators said the project would create thousands of jobs and make necessary improvements to the state’s transportation infrastructure. Republicans said it is too expensive and relies on uncertain future funding. They criticized starting construction in the sparsely populated Central Valley.Among Republicans in opposition was Sen. Tony Strickland, who criticized a willingness by the Legislature to reduce spending elsewhere while finding money for high-speed rail. “I think this is a colossal fiscal train wreck for California,” he said.

NOTES & COMMENTS:
*** California owed some $265 billion in January 2011. Who knows just how many more Billions have been added to that.It is pure insanity to just keep piling on the debt like this unless the plan is to cause the state to collapse, the goal of the Cloward-Piven strategy on a national scale. It is said you have to spend money to make money. Left out is that you have to have the money before you can spend it. No one has ever borrowed their way out of debt.Thank God these fools passed the legislation, now they can waste billions of everyones money not just the billions that California tax payers don't have. This is fiscal insanity. How can a state that has a $18 Billion budget deficit spend $3 Billion on a train that will never pay for itself. They already have reasonably fast train service from the SF Bay area to the LA area, and nobody rides it. Why would they abandon the airplanes to ride a high-speed train instead. Since they are so hung up on taxpayer subsidized 19th century transportation, why don't they throw another 68 billion into developing a fleet of high-speed clipper ships?

The proposed California High Speed Rail line would be more expensive than every other active HSR proposal in the country put together. While subsidized by everyone who pays the regressive sales tax, its users would have a higher than average income, so it is a subsidy from the poor to the rich. It would cost about $600-$1000 person or $2000-$3000 per California household before a single trip is made. This money could support about 20,000 teachers or police perpetually. For every $1 spent by the passenger, it would entail $4 in public subsidy, twice the annual expenditure of the State Transportation Improvement Program

But even $117.6 billion might not be enough. January 24, State Auditor Elaine Howle issued her audit report of the CHSRA (Fact Sheet, Full Report). Turns out, the business plan left out the nominal sum of $97 billion in operating and maintenance costs from 2025 to 2060. Oops. The plan says that revenues would cover all such costs starting 2022, the year trains are projected to roll on the initial section. What if revenues fall short? Is anyone going to take a diesel train from Bakersfield to Fresno? Elegantly, no operating losses are figured into the plan. And if there are losses, funding requirements would jump.

The Lynch mob.

William Lynch, the 44-year-old California man who admitted he pummeled a Jesuit priest who he said abused him as a boy, has been found not guilty of felony assault and elder abuse charges."I was wrong for doing what I did," Lynch said after the verdict was announced. "In doing that I perpetuated the cycle of violence."
  1. There is a grand liberalizing trend in the Court system . The best example  About 45 minutes after a jury found him not guilty of felony assault and elder abuse for attacking Jerold Lindner, William Lynch goes free . I think that the Priest Lindner  may have been guilty of sex abuse in the past , but the statues of limitations may as well  set the Priest free . Why I am saying this? My guess is that even if the DA decides to retry Lynch on the one misdemeanor assault - which they won't- (anyone see the overwhelming polls that support the verdict for Lynch?) Lindner will never agree to show up for court again. Ever.  Maybe the California lawmakers will wake out of a stupor now. This landmark case has earned worldwide attention. But the inescapable underlying issue that is unofficially and plausibly being redirected is the antiquated “statute of limitations” on child sex abuse cases.  ** William  Lynch  is unforunte fact of life that vigillate mentallty always leads to major injusices being committed.   And now for reality. The California law statutes concerning child sexual abuse are a failure. Lynch was prosecuted for hitting the accused unconscionable child rapist Father Jerold Lindner, but the failed “pedophile-friendly” justice system in Santa Clara County was totally useless to prosecute someone whom many consider a serial sex offender. What's totally bizarre to me is that Lindner, with his long, long history of raping children, including his niece and nephew actually had the gall to file a police report against Lynch. After all, the place where he lives lists him as a child molester. What arrogance for him to think his past abuse would not come out.

NOTES & COMMENTS:

** In case you readers may not know , here is my investigation to this "story" .  Lynch and his brother were awarded $625,000 after filing a civil suit against Lindner in 1997. And yet the priest still claims he never abused them? As we have heard often.... money isn't everything. Living with this "secret" for so many years, I don't blame him for wanting more to get closure.

Romneycare, Obamacare.

Mitt Romney’s  alibi in defeating Obama should run on this slogan , " You stole my idea". The Idea of Health Care reform , now renamed  Obamacre .    Now  this has grid locked Mr. Romney's  position. ** When  Mr. Romney worked out reform  as he was Governor  of Massachusetts may bare some similarities to Obama's plan , but there are obvious differences between them . Romneycare was the foundation stone  for Obama to create  a national healthcare plan  . Mr. Romney here is in a catch 22 with Obama . You can'tr just dig into the dirt about both plans how similar they may be . I feel after the Supreme Court's decision  , that Mr. Romney should face Obama by accusing him , and his administration of using what he did as governor against him . # The Left wing media has built up accusations of Mr. Romney flip flopping on issues . The healthcare issue is no easy  task  . Neither is socialized medicine that bares any resemblance to Canada's model .  I wish that Romney had been more articulate to the public in regards to his healthcare reform . Mitt Romney’s campaign added one more spin Monday to the dizzying debate over what to call money owed to the government by people who flout the national health care law’s individual insurance mandate.Romney spokesman Eric Fehrnstrom said the presumptive Republican presidential nominee agrees with the Obama administration’s insistence that the “shared responsible payment,” as it is called in the Affordable Care Act, should be described as a penalty, or a fee, or a fine -- but not a tax. Romney’s gripe, Fehrnstrom said, is that the president changed his tune when the time came to defend the health care law before the Supreme Court. As he pushes to "repeal and replace" President Obama's healthcare law, former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney has turned to proposals that could alter the way hundreds of millions of Americans get their medical insurance. In public, Romney has only sketched the outlines of a plan, and aides have declined to answer questions about the details. But his public statements and interviews with advisors make clear that Romney has embraced a strategy that in crucial ways is more revolutionary — and potentially more disruptive — than the law Obama signed two years ago.Congratulations to 2005 Mitt Romney. With this health care plan, he saved lives and families in Massachusetts. With only seven years separating this past Romney from the present, Romney now isn't the Republican governor of a liberal state, but the de-facto leader of the whole Republican Party. It's clear that ideology doesn't interest 2012 Mitt Romney. We may never know what Mitt Romney, deep in his heart, thinks about the Obamacare, but what we do know is that it is his biggest nightmare coming into November, and for him, it seems that getting him  all the way to the Oval Office , turning Obama's triumph into a political weapon  . Romney is running for the United States presidency, and he is a viable candidate to be the leader of the free world. His campaign slogan is, "Believe in America." But how can we believe in America if we can't even believe in him? Any how it's ad nausea m  . I recommend that everyone dose a fact check here : FACT CHECK OBAMA CARE

NOTES & COMMENTS:

** Obamacare, of course, is the familiar name for the Affordable Care Act passed by Congress in 2010 and signed by Obama. It seeks health coverage for every American by requiring most Americans to obtain coverage or face a fine. To help people meet that requirement, it expands Medicaid for the poor, provides subsidies for people of modest means to buy insurance, and sets up fines that have the effect of encouraging large employers to provide insurance for their employees. It also sets up insurance exchanges where individuals and businesses can purchase private insurance. Those elements are also the backbone of the health care reform Romney signed in Massachusetts in 2006. Architects of both plans acknowledge that the Massachusetts law served as the model for the national plan.
# Romney in 2009 wrote an article advocating a FEDERAL mandate even beyond the state mandate (penalty or tax) that he already implemented in MA. http://www.redstate.com/erick/... (doesnt really matter much whether its a tax or penalty to the 1% who ended up chosing to pay it in MA by not getting off moochin off other tax payers at ERs.)
