Comey Memo's and Book OVERVIEW.

Can Comey and his testimony
be "believed"?
James B. Comey typed up what may be one of the greatest set of cover-your-ass memos in political history. James Comey’s book is called A Higher Loyalty reportedly makes no secret of the disdain in which the former FBI director holds the president who fired him. Comey compares President Trump to a mob boss, calling him a liar living in a “cocoon of alternative reality” and a man who is “unethical, and untethered to truth and institutional values.” But judging from his blockbuster interview with ABC News he dealt  Hillary Clinton's election no mater what he said. (1)>>Hillary's e-mails were the subject of nearly a decades long investigation . You read me right "decades" & of wasting tax payer money up to 2018.  Nothing was found that compromised the security of the United States all the hype was that she held classified info on her personal server , OK big deal . James Comey might now be a hero like , he wants to come clean  , but he is nothing but a Republican fink.  Kellyanne Conway, a top counselor to President Donald Trump, said that former FBI Director James Comey "swung" the 2016 election, referring to (1.2)>>Comey's October 2016 announcement that he had re-opened the FBI's investigation into Hillary Clinton's private email server just days before the presidential election, which many believe helped Trump win "This guy swung an election," Conway told ABC News' George Stephanopoulos on "Good Morning America" . "He thought the wrong person would win."Conway's remark contradicts the White House's longstanding position on Comey's controversial move, which they say had no significant impact on the election. Reading Comey, his subsequent interviews  like on the Rachael Maddow show {MSNBC } did not convince me of his integrity , even though he's now a Trump pariah.  But remember that Trump repeatedly praised Comey's decision back then , saying he (2)>>"did the right thing" by notifying Congress of the investigation's revival.  Even Days before the election, Trump argued it "took guts" for Comey to "make the move that he made in light of the kind of opposition that he had where they're trying to protect her from criminal prosecution." As the election approached, FBI director James Comey made public his bombshell letter saying that Ms Clinton would face another email investigation. Two days before that, Mr Giuliani talked about “a surprise or two you’re going to hear about in the next few days. We’ve got a couple of things up our sleeve that should turn things around". I really believe that Donald Trump wanted to prosecute and jail Hillary . Comey was paying lip service to Trump trying find the smoking gun , which prolonged the inept investigation into Hillary botched e-mails. Comey administered an extraordinary tongue-lashing to Clinton and her aides, rebuking them for being "extremely careless" in the handling of classified information and saying the presumptive Democratic nominee should have known an unclassified email system was no place to conduct sensitive government business. The FBI director pointed out that the probe was tasked with examining whether Clinton or her aides had mishandled classified information either intentionally or in a grossly negligent way.The findings of the FBI probe immediately detonated on the campaign trail with presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump crying foul. (2.1)>>"The system is rigged. ... Very very unfair! As usual, bad judgment," Trump tweeted. He later issued a statement in which he claimed U.S. "adversaries almost certainly have a blackmail file on Hillary Clinton," which he said "disqualifies" her from the presidency. The bottom line  that the idea that "adversaries have a blackmail file ..." seemed more to pertain  more to Donald Trump whose Russia pre-Presidential dealings were a bit shady . Donald Trump's own Russian connections were closely related to business , beauty pageants.  As Comey said , explained he thought the most salacious details about the infamous (3)>>Trump-Russia dossier could possibly be true, a potentially damning inference against a president who has long denied any links to Russia and called the dossier “fake news.”Comey, speaking to ABC News in a an interview , detailed the story of when he first made President Donald Trump aware of the dossier compiled by a former British intelligence officer and its damning contents. Trump, at the time, had yet to be sworn into office and was still president-elect.Along with claiming Trump and his former campaign were heavily linked with Russia to win the White House, the dossier also said Trump had hired prostitutes , had slept on at the Moscow Ritz Carlton during Trump’s trip there for the Miss Universe pageant in 2013.Trump was defiant about the dossier’s most salacious detail and asked Comey if he thought the billionaire real estate mogul needed “hookers.” Right now as I write this , the Dossier has descended into another great conspiracy . Dossier writer reportedly wrote another, different memo, which has not reached the public. It details how Russia believed it was able to stop Trump from naming former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney—a noted hawk on Russia—as secretary of state in favor of a more pro-Russia representative. ↦ Here is the Irony ,Trump eventually went with former Exxon Mobil chief Rex Tillerson, who has a long-running relationship with Putin. The flip brought John Bolton  back , one of the crazies of the Bush era to replace Tillerson , who a long time war hawk who advocated bombing Iran .
A Higher Loyalty ?
Now that James Comey wants to explain himself. A Higher Loyalty: Truth, Lies and
Comey just released Memos .
Leadership is Comey’s story of what he did and why. From a fact-checking point of view, there isn’t much to debunk. Dates check out, titles are accurate, his recounting of events follows widely reported and accepted benchmarks. That’s in contrast to some of the botched details in journalist Michael Wolff’s Fire and Fury account of life in the White House. While The question of which "loyalty" amuses me . Like what I explained above regarding the Hillary investigations were a waste of government time .Comey writes that he felt confident reopening the Clinton email probe days before the election because he assumed Clinton would win, and if the new investigation was revealed after her victory it might make her seem “illegitimate.” He says the same thing about keeping Russian meddling quiet, certain it wouldn’t matter when Hillary became his boss a few months later. Setting aside the irony of Comey setting out to legitimize the expected Clinton presidency only to hurt her, what’s most disturbing is the blatant admission that a partisan calculus was a part of his decision making in any way.  Recently the  Republicans in Congress demanded the release of James B. Comey’s memos about President Trump, threatening Rod J. Rosenstein, the deputy attorney general, with a subpoena if he failed to share the highly anticipated documents written by the former F.B.I. director.President Donald Trump spent the weekend accusing the former director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation of being a (4)>>"liar and leaker," a claim that the Department of Justice is reportedly looking into. The Justice Department's Inspector General, Michael Horowitz, has opened an investigation to determine whether James Comey improperly disclosed classified information, according to the Wall Street Journal. Whether it should have been classified is a separate question. But it makes Trump’s accusations against Comey somewhat less potent.

NOTES AND COMMENTS:

(1)>>Hillary's e-mails were the subject of nearly a decades long investigation.  What was really behind the "investigation" on Hillary's e-mails  is twofold . They extended nearly seven years, ended abruptly .[ The  “Benghazi Timeline,” which was originally published Oct. 26, 2012, but it has been updated numerous times as an independent report and multiple congressional reports have been issued —  by the House Select Committee on Benghazi. ] The long basically  feet dragging investigation is puzzling . The first period was an investigation into Hillary Clinton   trying to find dirt on what exactly took place in regards to Benghazi Libya , there was a lot of finger pointing , perhaps it was an attempt to link President Obama {as commander -in - chief } as the responsible party . While Obama made a horrible decision on not sending any help to the embassy staff in the end of the whole Benghazi quagmire Hillary Clinton took the blame herself . The second round of the investigation opened up exactly when she was running for President, and the focus has been on her statements in the immediate aftermath of the Benghazi attacks — rather than on Obama, who won his reelection. As part of the House Benghazi committee report, Republican Reps. Jim Jordan and Mike Pompeo issued an addendum with their views. In it, they blame Clinton for being among those who misled the public “rather than tell the American people the truth and increase the risk of losing an election.”    (2)>>"did the right thing"       Attorney General Jeff Sessions, then a top Trump campaign surrogate, also praised Comey's move, telling Fox News in late October and early November, 2016, that Comey "had an absolute duty … to come forward with the new information" and that he "did the right thing."  (1.2)>>Comey's October 2016 announcement .In October 2015, President Obama  that Clinton's personal email server “is not a situation in which America’s national security was endangered,” and the following April, a few months before Comey’s press conference, Obama  of the Clinton email controversy that Clinton “would never intentionally put America in any kind of jeopardy.” Both of these statements gave the appearance to many observers that the President had prejudged legally relevant aspects of the investigation. And, of course, Clinton is also the nominee of the President Obama's own party.(2.1)>>"The system is rigged. ... Its REALLY beyond strange how candidate Donald J Trump somehow "knew" of election rigging , he bragged about it so much  . I wrote a piece and posted on my blog prior to  that, I believed the election was rigged for Hillary Clinton in some way . I would have not guessed that It was the opposite to my speculation, but the DNC was rigged enough to ouster Sanders for the DNC nomination , but frankly I don't know why Sanders ran on a Democrat platform , he would have done better as a Independent , probably won . As For Trump ,  I am pretty certain that there were "some" Republicans in some sort of collusion to make him win the Republican Party nomination . It was not so much "Russians" in "FOX Holes" if you understand the term { FOX-holes as in FOX NEWS } the Trump win of the nomination throws out the Russian meddling out the window as much as a "inner Party conspiracy" on controlling the Electoral Collage , manipulating the vote from within the nation . Right now we are being bombarded with the Russian collusion theory , being told we have proof as in Mark Zukerberg FaceBook gathering of data profiles , but that only showed that Facebook collaborated with the Trump bandwagon to "influence" voters , but this was shown as evidence that Russians did it via fake news ads { Remember the word "Fake news" was a Trump's hammer to CNN} now somehow applied to political ads .  (3)>>Trump-Russia dossier could possibly be true. See [ Dossier - The Moscow Project https://themoscowproject.org/dossier/]  And in the aftermath of the publication of these explosive findings—as nothing less than the legitimacy of the 2016 U.S. presidential election was impugned; as congressional hearings and F.B.I. investigations were announced; as a bombastic president-elect continued to let loose with indignant tirades about “fake news”. Mr Trump’s personal lawyer, Michael Cohen, had vehemently denied the claim, made in the report.  (4)>>"liar and leaker   As legal scholar Jonathan Turley notes, "that could be viewed as incriminating fired FBI director James Comey, not just in leaking sensitive information but also in lying to Congress."As Turley and others have noted, Comey was asked under oath in May 2017 whether he had ever authorized anyone to leak information to the press. Comey's answer was an emphatic "no."If Comey wasn't entirely truthful then, it wouldn't be the first time he's played fast and loose with the facts.
